radxBetter send a fruit basket or something to the folks at Toulouse who build this A320.
Krupo*nochannel this has nothing to do with world affairs or terror. *News, *Travel & *Happy

Idiot can't identify the airbus... can't blame him I guess... unless he tried to count the # of windows to estimate its size. Meh. Reuters called it a small plane with "more than a dozen passengers" in their first report too.
I called happy on it, obviously, because everyone survived.

quantumushroomThey blame birds for cutting off the engines. What the hell were birds doing flying the plane?
notarobotConsidering the intact (and buoyant) fuselage, those are some very, very lucky people.
anyprophetsays...The people calling this a miracle need to be dick slapped. They are ignoring the training of the flight crew and the design of the plane.
StingrayThis isn't even half a day old yet and already sifted...
The Sift is a mighty powerful thing.
gwiz665They pulled a homer.
joedirtwho knew planes could float like that with doors open.
lavollthings went as smooth as they did because they had an excellent captain on the plane, who apparently did absolutely every little thing right for the situation. i read one passenger report who thought they had landed on a runway because the water landing was so smooth. i think i also read that the captain is a former jet fighter pilot for the american airforce, so i bet he has some serious piloting skillz
no miracle, just one good guy keeping his head cold when it counts.
firefly"Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue."
westynot relay that bad if the plane is in one peace it cannot have hit the ground that hard,
MarineGunrockI would absolutely love it if that happened to me.
Being able to fly for free for the rest of your life would be awesome!
PaybackNot to make little of the pilot's accomplishment -he's obviously Airborne Samurai- but from what I hear of his background, and years of experience, what he did wasn't very heroic, it is to be expected. I think people need to raise the bar on "heroism". It's getting anointed onto way too many achievements lately. I mean, some are calling the ferry boat captains heroes, even though what they did is their lawful duty.
CaptainPlanet420What a surprise...a woman disobeyed orders and opened the rear exit, letting water into the plane. Lucky they didn't all drown cuzza her.
