BBC: "Sony's PLAYSTATION 3 Has Disappointed Fans Again"

Good hope it tanks. I am getting the Wii60 combo because more games especially all the old Nintendo games that I grew up with. I will probably end up playing those more than any other games

You know the same thing was said about the first Playstation launch which was delayed and attacked by the industry since Sony was just a electronics firm then (not the media conglomerate it is now). It sold already 100 million of those.

The same thing was said about the Playstation 2, which was delayed and featured another at the time unproven technology called DVD. It sold boat loads of those.

The same scenario will be played out. No matter what will be said Playstation holds the best franchises in the video game market, from Gran Turismo to Final Fantasy to Tekken to a million others. Name the best games on XBox360 from an original IP? Halo is the only one that can really stick up there (add Dead Rising soon to that too). Ever since the Playstation brand has began it's relied on pushing the technology that much further then the competition to stay ahead, it's doing the same thing and it will pay off.

The Wii is a roulette gamble at the moment. It's two trump cards are the much lower price and new dimensions of gameplay it opens through it's interface. Though I don't know how I would deal with being alone at home waving my arms around like a maniac playing Super Mario Galaxy.

Great comments... "Good hope it tanks." ... "all the old Nintendo games that I grew up with. I will probably end up playing those more "

Yes, well, I wouldn't recommend shopping for high tech items then.... the PS3 doesnt make a lot of sense for shoppers with your plans.

I buy the first interviewee. The second one, "James Greenberg", is either a plant or faking it. I don't believe anyone who cares as intently about the PS3 as he does first heard about the delay from a TV reporter.

The delay may hurt the PS3, but I think the price tag for it - which increases seemingly every time anyone from Sony makes a statement about the PS3 - is the greater harm. The me-tooism (tacking limited position-sensing onto otherwise conventional controllers after Nintendo started promoting its controller) worries me a bit, but that could be harmless PHB-ism.

James fell prey to Sony marketing. The "better" graphics and "better" performance have been cut down significantly since the initial announcement of the spec.

Not to mention that he belives online play will be better. Sony lacks the infrastructure that MS can provide and on top of that they do not have nearly as much experience with online console gaming.

Games are of course personal opinion but FF is getting really lame now (360 has FFXI anyhow). PGR is pretty much the pinical of car racing games. Gears of war and Halo 3 got the FPS covered. Sony can have the crappy EA sports titles to themselves as far as I care.
