Anna Paquin's Breathless Oscar Acceptance Speech, Aged 11

Quality is a bit rough unfortunately, but you get the gist... A little girl, so out of her depth, manages to pull it together at the last minute.

You'll notice she went back to her seat in the audience. The prize winners aren't actually supposed to do that but leave out the side of the stage. The reason for this is that there are people who fill in the seat left empty so that no shots of the audience ever show empty places.

I'd like to have seen the face she made when she found someone else in her seat.

I only just noticed that Holly Hunter was also up for the award, and they show her in one of the little windows. She literally jumps out of her seat clapping when she hears Anna's name called. That's classy.
