from YouTube: I brought a pound of sodium to Chestfest 5.0. It did neat things once it hit the water!

I'd say something about the fish, but that river looks pretty dead already.

Needs an EIA tag because, funny story, flying Na and NaOH = bad day for anyone who get's tagged...

Isn't it illegal to intentionally poison a river, even if it LOOKS like it's already in bad shape? I think that guy's looking at a hefty fine at the very least. Dumbass for doing this in the first place, doubly so for putting his face on camera.

*eia for sure, sorry I missed adding that. There seems to be some discussion going on with the fellow who uploaded the video and other concerned parties over at YT. This video was uploaded in 2014, but has been getting some current views due to being posted on Boing Boing.

Pretty fun how it skipped once and exploded second!

For everyone who got the environmental twinges from watching this, good for you. Also, this isn't any worse than pouring a gallon of bleach down your sink at home...use more environmentally friendly soaps (bronner's soap, for example) if you aren't already.
