I thinks it's caused by image stabilization being wonky.

I've always wondered about this because it shuts off like 5 or 6 times every time I pump gas on my car! So annoying.

Oh, yes please stop it. These annoying jump cuts between every other sentence or more are among the most annoying things people do in their videos. I usually try and avoid watching those videos but sometimes their content is very good even though the creators are crap at editing them.

I use a userscript called Youtube Center. It allows you to download the videos in mp4, flv, webm and 3gp formats. You need to have Greasemonkey or Scriptish installed on Firefox to use userscripts. I don't know about other browsers.
