Even IF there were 10 videos being promoted, that usually meant that 8 of those were top notch, so I really don't see why you'd restrict it to 3.
But what's worse is that you don't see who posted it, how long it is, how many views it has or the description. It doesn't give the full information and doesn't give a focus to the elements, as it should.

To be blunt;
The new design has some benefits, but also a lot of clutter. Some of the new functionalities (power point usage, promotes, new menu) are absolutely worthless compared to how they used to be.
Worthless to the point that I have several friends that are now migrating to reddit because they can't find what they're looking for here anymore. Either because of broken logic, or non-intuitive navigation.

The community is what keeps the sift going, so please consider rolling back a few things.

The Top videos, is now called "All time top videos" for some reason. Which is weird, because you are presented with a page of todays top videos.
Sure, you can select all time top, but that is not really what you are presented with initially.

Secondly, there's only one page of videos there. There used to be several pages of videos there. Is this because of lack of sifting, or some bug relating to the calculations of top videos?

And I'm really getting sick of the background texture. Could you perhaps make it optional?

And I still think the number of people in the sift lounge should be made more visible, and not only available through the pop-out menu. At least for users that can join (charters and silver+). This is of course to keep it from dying completely.

I don't understand why people are getting their panties in a bunch as much as they seem to do over this video. Especially the people chanting for the guy who was laughing to be torn limb by limb!?

How is it different from a cat playing with a mouse before eating it? Or the thousands of other examples of fucking NATURE!

Maybe something to do with them being bipedal? Might hit a bit too close to home for some people..

Also, there are no rules in the animal kingdom, so there are no "cheap shots".
Humans invented rules to all sorts of things in society, including fighting, and I'm pretty sure other animals don't really have that. At least not towards other species.

I'm not saying I enjoyed what the monkeys were doing to the little fella, but I can understand somebody laughing at the entire scenario unfolding before their eyes. To chant for his head on a stake seems worse than what the chimps were doing.

After listening to @eric3579 "bitch and moan" all day, I have a proposal for another fix:
Making the responsive part of the site optional.

Some users like having the same layout on desktop and mobile, because they're old farts, and prefer zooming over scrolling.

I looked through the css to make eric a tiny script he could run to disable it, but I can't disable the mediaqueries, because they are bundled in the different css files.

So here is another quick option

Or moving all the mediaqueries into a separate file, and not loading that on demand;

A few suggestions and requests:

Retina icons and thumbnails.
And maybe a "sarcasm" banner, like the featured banner?.
And a way to see how many are in the sift lounge from the main navigation, without having to hover to check. Otherwise it's going to die completely.
