On a website with so many video examples of nut-job police officers abusing their power and showing an extreme lack of good judgement, I find it ironic that so many are willing to give them ABSOLUTE power by surrendering our rights. The constitution and the bill of rights are meant to protect us from abusive governments.

Sense of humor is different than how a British comic acts vs how American comics act. I'm pretty sure we all find both at least somewhat funny. Some of the most popular American comics would be considered "British" by Fry's definition.

It's not the media's job to "inform" people. The example about nearly 70% of people believing that Saddam Hussein had attacked us on 9/11 is laughable. If that stat is true (which I doubt), it's the uninformed American population that's the problem. The problems with the media and a lack of facts are a SYMPTOM. If people didn't eat that stuff up (as a sort of pseudo-entertainment) then the media executives would be forced to change their model.

People watch that garbage. That's the problem.
