Tango Electric Sports Car

coreburn says...

It's not for everybody, and it's not meant to replace every one's cars & trucks, but damn I bet a lot of bigger cities could benefit from commuters using these. Yeah lots of people need their trucks, and lots of people would still keep their cars that they love, but use one to get to work and back at least if I could afford one.

They need to remember how much people like to customize their cars & bikes & well everything actually, and make plenty of customization options. Though I bet they've already thought of that.

If I was a billionaire I'd throw them some money, but I'm not. There's lots of them out there though, too bad so many of them are afraid to invest in ideas like this.

Sony's flexible, full-color OLED

coreburn says...

The way I look at it, cellphones and lots of other gadgets have short lifetimes anyway, so why not use it for those devices. Or make the displays easily replaceable, through some kind of universal connection kinda like USB and make it compatible with lots of different devices... that way it could be used lots of different ways instead of just on one device, like to show someone your photos on your camera, or video cam, or portable digital video/music device... maybe even gaming devices too, although for that low resolution isn't going to work.

NASA World Wind 1.4 - Google Earth Killer

coreburn says...

Why pick one or the other? They both have different uses, I keep both installed. Most of the time though I get tired of World Wind being god aweful slow, weird glitches, low texture & terrain detail and go back to Google Earth. Having the other planets & SDSS data is very cool though.

Screen Savers #1: 64 mg Ram is all you'll ever need!

coreburn says...

First PC I ever bought myself was a 486DX33 w/4Meg of ram. but before that I had some 8086 thing with no HD, just two 5.25 floppys & an orange monochrome monitor found at a garage sale... and though not really a PC I actually had a C=64 back in the day. I still have an old Cyrix 6x86-P166 processor I once thought made my computer go REALLY fast!
