Penn & Teller - Bullshit - Gun Control
Just look at the UK. Recently gun crime has suffered a massive increase, despite the handgun ban. Know why that is? Because we were never allowed to carry loaded guns on our person anyway, so they were never a defensive mechanism. Removing them did nothing. Modern gun crime in the UK is committed by people who wouldn't have been able to gain legal access to a firearm in the first place and all of them are black market goods.
What do you think would happen in the US if you introduced a handgun ban? Suddenly a lot of criminals would be armed while the populace would become defenceless. Its not like the UK where very few people have guns, so only the gangs get them, nearly any criminal is likely to be armed because they have been so freely available before.
The most telling point in this show was that killing sprees tend to occur in "Gun free zones". Now make the entire country a "gun free zone" and see what happens
Pussy drawing - Extremely detailed: A time-lapse video
Bah! Haters again like the last video. It may be underlit but even so, I do know people who can do this sort of thing. They don't draw any frameworks because its all in their head.
K0MMIE: never say anything isn't art. It is art whether you like it or not and when a room with a flickering lightbulb can be called a work of art you can hardly complain about a technical work like this. Sadly no one seems interested in technical ability any more, hence why people like Hurst can get away with not lifting a finger to make "works of art" that sell for millions.
Mythbusters: Do Flying Birds in a Truck Change the Weight?
Haricot: You've completly ignored the fact that it isn't the weight of the air but rather the force it exerts on the floor. In order for something to fly it must exert a force at least equal to its mass in order to oppose gravity. The air will always have to hit the floor of the truck before it escapes out of the sides even in your chicken wire container, and that is when the force is exerted.

What's the point in having a constitution in the first place if you're just going to write get out clauses into it?

The Four Horsemen. Dawkins,Dennett,Harris and Hitchens
I don't think anti-theism is the answer regardless. Dawkins and co have raised the profile of atheism but many "converts" are people who already doubted the existance of a god, they just couldn't articulate it because of the environment we live in. We need more people like Attenbourgh who extole the virtues of rational atheism and science, not the faults of religion. We need the Dawkins types but not exclusively. Christianity would have faltered long ago if Pat Robertson was representitive of all preachers.

Dragon Skin - The body armor soldiers SHOULD have
Failed some closed testing done by the US army. I think it was to do with extreme angle shots penetrating where they would just glance off ceramic plate. Anything which doesn't get specific approval is banned as an insurance type of thing.
Of course its also likely the cost scared them so they decided to avoid the sticky question of why they weren't shelling out for it, by making it seem as though it wasn't fully capable.
Testing methods and examples are a bit crap here though. Since when did terrorists carry AP rounds? And most armoured cars are only designed with taking low calibre rounds anyway. Still steel sheet is a terrible material as far as bullet resistance goes. The ceramics and kevlar composites used in modern body armour are much better.

Damn, I was looking forwards to posting this.
The Evolution of Anime
You are forgiven then
I know my own opinions on anime are rather controvertial so I probably shouldn't complain regardless.
ART OF SEDUCTION: Not Pretty, Really
I reserve the right to not feel sympathy for anyone I choose. Sure I understand that they have a problem but why should someone like me, who has had a lot more direct experiences thanks to my appearance, feel sorry for them?
Why should I, when the self image society has placed on me is that I'm worthless? I got over that stigma years ago and am quite happy, even if I do still get random chavs come up to me on the street and tell me I have big ears (seriously whats up with that?). If I can get over that they can can get over being too pretty.
No one should be told that they *must* be sympathetic to someone else.
The Evolution of Anime
Gundam Seed was stupid? If you had said any of the other Gundam series I would agree with you, Seed is untouchable.
Also, Trigun: best anime ever.
Evanglion and Akira are pretty overrated though. Both are perfect examples of every bad anime sterotype and neither of them have a particularly involving plot; making the mistake of *trying* to alienate their viewers and mistaking complexity for quality. From an artistic point of view they are excellent but the writer in me cringes.

Mac Vs PC: Vista Dowgrade
Having recently upgraded to Vista I must say that I'm pretty indifferent to it. On the one hand I like the UI a lot more now, on the other it has some annoying network issues that I haven't been able to sort out properly. It hasn't made any difference. I can't be bothered to downgrade because overall I'd have the same level of satisfaction but with the niggly bits that don't work in different places.
