Whether they do neat stuff like this or not is all up to the crew. Some Southwest flights I've been on have had singing or joking around, others just had the usual friendly attendants.

I'd be upvoting stuff on my playlists now, but can't because most people have been reset to probie status, and probies can't vote on probies' videos...

It seems like the google cache still knows who voted which way on each video. Is there a way to mine that information and plug it back into your database? Probably not something you can do quickly.

Unfortunately, it looks like the google cache only keeps the latest version they have seen. Once they revisit the pages on videosift, that information will be lost, I think.

www.archive.org might have cached versions of most older sifts, but their saved pages look weird.

I noticed, at least for one of my videos, that it died because Youtube fixed the bug that was letting videos in a playlist be embedded regardless of the embed setting on the original video. I haven't found a fix for this yet. If anyone has figured this out, let me know, or post here. Others may have videos that died for the same reason.

Bah, Youtube seems to have fixed the bug that was allowing embed-disabled videos to be embedded. Anyone has a fix for this, let me know. I have been unable to find a suitable replacement, or a way to get the original video embedded again.

There's a speedrun of this game here, which abuses this constantly. It's sort of hard to read what he types, because it's a tool-assisted speedrun and he types really fast. But his answers are really funny. It's pretty awesome.

If you can't play the .mkv file, you can use VLC, which will play just about anything, no codec downloads required.

My roommate and I theorize that it accepts wrong answers because it has some sort of fuzzy recognition built in, to recognize words when people misspell them. But it sucks.

Make sure you watch until the very end, after the College Humor logo.

Feel free to tell me on my profile if you run into Colbert videos elsewhere on the Sift that are blocked. It takes about 5 seconds to get the airdate if it isn't blocked, so I don't mind. Just gimme a link to the video...

I suspect it is the same for other Comedy Central videos, but I won't know for sure until I try 'em.
