Military extreme skateboard: "first response vehicle"

TickleMyElmo says...

A light motorcycle is better than this thing in every way. What's the point?

Wouldn't you rather go 3 times as fast, over more difficult terrain, and carry cargo while doing it?

Nissan GT-R smokes Bugatti Veyron

TickleMyElmo says...

That's either a very heavily modified GTR or the dude in the Veyron is just taking it easy. Off the line, maybe the GTR launch control (although the Veyron has its own) and lower weight might give it a little advantage, but once they are over 100mph, 1000 hp will stomp on 480 hp. There would just be no contest.

Edit: More info at http://www.zercustoms.com/news/Switzer-Nissan-GT-R-vs-Bugatti-Veyron-Video.html :

"The Switzer Nissan GT-R is equipped with the tuner's P800 power pack which get Godzilla to a total output of 800 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque."

Even so, 200 hp is a pretty big deficit from a running start as in the second clip. I'm still skeptical.

Triple Human Botfly removal

The dude manning the tweezers seemed to know what he was doing. The pain assessment is a common medical practice, and he was ready with proper gauze after the removal. I'm guessing he's just friends with his doctor, hence the casual atmosphere.

Carjacker jumps in icy river - Then he gets Tazed

The gun would have been the better option. When your opponent goes for a lethal weapon, you don't counter with a less-than-lethal option. The cop was extremely generous.

Portals still alive song ON A 8080!!!!

TickleMyElmo says...

"I personally didn't think an 8080 was capable of doing this."

It's using an FM chip for the music synthesis, so the 8080 is mostly concerned with text mode screen updates, and sending the correct notes.

"Remarkably, here is a nearly identical setup."

Same guy.
