ATI/AMD's DirectX-11-Techdemo Ladybug (DoF, Focal Lens)

Razor says...

Nice demo. Very much looking forward to seeing some DX11 titles, like Dirt 2.

It's a shame though that the ladybug's movements are so... unnatural. Having done a buttload of macro photos this past summer it's too noticeable for me.

Why bother with anything other than an iPod?

Check out the Zune HD. You might change your mind. OLED, Tegra, better sound. Needs more apps though.

And I suppose Windows is better than a Mac - Yea, right

It all depends on who you are and what you do. As a gamer, programmer, photographer and overall advanced user, Windows beats the shit out of OSX... for me. As a system builder (that is, I put together my own customer computers) I would never consider buying something pre-built, Mac or otherwise.

Blind allegiance to any brand is plain idiotic. I know my wants and needs and design a system around it. Many years of computing experience have helped me find the hardware and software that suits what I do. Customer built PCs using Windows.

Not a Mac. Not OSX. Not a chance.

Im sure manny amercans are illiterate and this has had an effect on the quality of news pappers, but im also pritty sure that the internet , pod casts , and other methods of getting news have had just as big impact on newspaper sales.

Not to be mean, Westy, but you do prove your own point Assuming you are American, that is.

FOX's Shep Smith: Was that Canadian Health Care Story Fair?

Razor says...

>> ^schlub:
Yeah, Canada has waiting times and other issues, but, you know what? If I need to see my doctor because of some issue, I walk in to the office do what needs to be done, then walk out. I don't get a bill. I need an MRI? Yeah, I have to wait, but it doesn't cost me anything. Need an X-ray, blood tests, flu shot, hospital stay, my wife has a baby and gets a c-section, is in hospital for 3 or 4 days,.. yeah, we still don't have to pay a bill.
The system's not perfect (and needs work), but not having to fork over cash for every visit is pretty sweet and usually makes up for many of the short-comings.

Amen. It has it's problems but is way ahead of a pay-for system like that in the States.

I love how these Fox reports are often devoid of tangible facts. So a lady was told she is too heavy for a hip replacement? Doesn't surprise me. For all we know she is a 600 lb fatty and the real story is that she was told she needs to lose weight before such surgery is practical.

I wouldn't trade the system we have in Canada for what is had in the US. Not a chance.

How To Survive A Cougar Attack

Razor says...

>> ^alizarin:
Cougar—a woman over 40[10] who sexually pursues younger men, typically more than eight years her junior.[11] The term appears to have been coined by Canadian website Cougardate.com

If you wanted more proof of the inaccuracy of Wikipedia articles, this is it. The term cougar has been used _alot_ longer than this website has been in existence =P
