Hardest Video Game Ever?

Mezzanine says...

Most of what the enemies say is nonsense. For example, one of them says "mudamudamuda!", from Jojo ("Za Warudo!"), and the cloud says "Yum!". The flagpole says "bee!", like "beam".

When the player gets the mushrooms, he says "Yuck!". He mostly says things like "Ugh" or something similar... he also says "u-ho!", a line from that gay manga ("yaranaika").

Others---
Enemy: "It's the difference in ability..."
Enemy: "Nima nima" (?)
Enemy: "I'm strong! I'm invincible!"
Enemy: "Go home!"
Enemy: "Tera yowasu" - "tera" being a recent buzzword meaning "super" (mega, giga, tera), and "yowai" meaning "weak"
Enemy: "Poo! hehehe"
Helmet Enemy: "Iron wall! Therefore, invincible!"

Solariums are bad!

Mezzanine says...

So, what's the point here? Tanning beds kill you? I'll never get in one of those things, as I'm pretty claustrophobic to begin with, and on top of that, I saw that scene from whatever that campy horror movie was where the girls get trapped inside one.

Japanese Live Action PacMan

Mezzanine says...

I'm pretty sure this was a comedy hour show from back in the late 80's. The guy playing the part of Pacman is Sanma Akashiya, or I think it is (if you know Japanese TV at all, you'll know him).

Japan has some really weird ideas about baseball

Mezzanine says...

It's for SkyPerfect TV, Japan's most popular premium cable service. It's *supposed* to be an ad for their baseball coverage - the tagline at the end says "EXTREMELY in-depth baseball!".

I'm not sure, but I think the pitcher is Nakai from SMAP...

Jackie Chan's Ten Greatest Hits

Mezzanine says...

The fact that he can be involved in all of these two-bit Hollywood movies and STILL be respected by many (including myself) says a great deal about this legend.

By the way, the shoe one was Rumble in the Bronx. He jumped onto a hovercraft and broke it.
