Election Fraud Lawsuit? Is This Real?

LiquidDrift says...

Lol, nothing in this video is convincing, certainly not the 'anchor', or the lawyer making the fraud claims.

I'll trust Nate Silver over some idiot shouting on the internet, here's his take:

http://fivethirtyeight.com/live-blog/new-york-primary-presidential-election-2016/

"If Clinton significantly outperforms exit polls showing a close race tonight and wins by a fairly comfortable margin instead, will it be part of a broader pattern? Not really. We’ve been keeping track of how Clinton’s and Sanders’s actual results have compared to initial exit polls, and the differences have been pretty random over the course of the campaign.

With that said, sometimes a candidate whose supporters are more enthusiastic can be overrated by exit polls because of response bias — this was sometimes an issue for Obama during the 2008 campaign, and it’s plausible we could see something parallel happening with Sanders. Furthermore, pre-election polls showed a wider lead for Clinton than the exit polls did, and it’s usually worth taking a blend of exit polls and pre-election polls even when you have exit polls in hand."

STAR TREK BEYOND Official Trailer #2 (2016)

LiquidDrift says...

Oh no, I have not forgotten, that's why I said 'maybe the second worst'

You all are forgetting about Star Trek V, The Search for God. That movie single-handedly almost destroyed the entire franchise.

You could film two hours of William Shatner singing to Chris Pine about why he was the best Kirk and it wouldn't be worse than Star Trek V.

STAR TREK BEYOND Official Trailer #2 (2016)

LiquidDrift says...

Yup, this is on track to be the worst star trek film ever (OK, maybe second worst).

They used less ninjas and dirtbikes in this trailer, but I still remember they have them in there!

Nothing about this looks appealing. Jumping from "reconstructing ship" to "destroying recently reconstructed ship" does nothing for me. Clearly nothing is sacred and everything can be pooped back out brand-new, this incarnation already has its first resurrected character, so what's at stake here?

Every since Wrath of Khan, Star Trek writers have been convinced they can only produce Khan-a-likes as a path to success. I was only partially onboard after the first film, I checked out completely after the last one, but I'm particularly surprised at the laziness of this one. The CG and action direction seem to be the only areas that are getting any creative engineering in any of these films.

The Man Who Put the Pee in Phosphorus

LiquidDrift says...

I remember Neal Stephenson touching on this in his Baroque Cycle trilogy. In the book, they boiled urine to make phosphorous, and then used it as molotov cocktails if memory serves.

VR Graffiti Simulator - Run Through

LiquidDrift says...

Thought this would be another half-baked, "Hey you can sort of do this in VR and it's good because ??? because it's VR man!"

This looks like a really well thought-out interface and a real, functioning app. Don't know who will buy it, but kudos to them for the effort.

MICROSOFT WINDOWS 10 Update Interrupts Weather

LiquidDrift says...

I have not - they warn that rolling back can lose data, break stuff, etc. I've heard from other people that rolling back is a huge hassle. When I need to do a wipe, I'll just reinstall Windows 8. I don't see much difference between 8 and 10 other than one broken program and it feels like it runs a bit slower. Thanks Microsoft, hope it was worth pissing off millions of people for, fuckers.

MICROSOFT WINDOWS 10 Update Interrupts Weather

They installed that shit on my main machine without my consent. I clicked no in that stupid dialog probably hundreds of times and then one day without warning it force installed it. Unbelievable, I'm still pissed about it.

Opinions in Japan of the White-Washing of Ghost in the Shell

LiquidDrift says...

Interesting that the interviewees don't see the characters as Japanese (and possibly not even asian?). So in that case, it seems fine if any actor plays an anime character, but certainly asian actors should be considered for the role(s).
