What channel should I make? (User Poll by Hybrid)

Kreegath says...

How about instead of creating a new channel when you hit ruby, you get to veto an existing one? Or even get shared responsibility of one, or take over one that's currently got nobody running it, since there really are more than enough channels as it stands.

Aladin: Meeting the Genie

You'll start to really appreciate these annual Disney movies again once you have kids and want to introduce them to the whole cinema experience. A huge upside is the playtime, which rarely went on for longer than an hour and a half; The time limit for most kids' patience.

CNN: Stuff White People Like

Kreegath says...

I'm pretty sure it would be a much longer list if it'd include everything that white persons like, or decidedly shorter if it'd be a list of the things that every white person likes.

What does he even count as "white"? Armenians, or Iranians? How white is "white" to these people? Perhaps its definition is based on how many generations ones family tree has resided in a western country.

It's not legal until proven illegal, though, is it? I mean, if it's contested whether it's a legal blockade or not, it's neither legal nor illegal until it's been established either way, isn't it?

World condemns Gaza flotilla raid - Russia Today

Kreegath says...

It's amazing to me how so many people here can have the in-depth understanding and knowledge of the historical and cultural situation to make strong, definite statements of justification or condemnation of Israel's actions, and then reach two diametrically opposed conclusions. Seems like there are far too many people here who wish only to speak and care nothing for listening.

A Teacher's Strike in Paradise

Kreegath says...

Why should the general area matter in the slightest to teachers being upset about a 10% pay cut? Am I wrong in assuming all public school teachers follow a standardized salary contract throughout the state? If they don't, and these teachers are living comfortably with their salaries noticably higher than any other public school district, then their strike might seem like an exercise in greed. However, for the importance of their job, the amount of time and effort it demands as well as the 4-5 years of university studies required to preform it adequately, they probably get a comparatively low salary to most of the other people in this video.

Red State Road Trip II

Kreegath says...

Life is not like GTA 4 where you can just walk into a store and pick up a gun if you're a criminal. It's not like a Hollywood action movie where bad guys are armed to the teeth with sub machine guns, sniper rifles and atomic bombs, and the only thing that'll stop them is Bruce Willis or Mel Gibson taking up arms and shooting the living crap out of them.

There are gun restrictions in my country, where you need to register your weapon and buy ammo through specialized shops who keep track on how much you get. You need to get a hunting license and maintain it in order to legally buy and keep your weapon. You also can't have as many guns as you want, nor whatever kind you want.
Now, this is by no means necessarily the reason why the crime rate is lower here than in the states, because it's such a complicated issue that you can't just point to one single thing as the decisive factor. However, the majority of our lesser crimes (and I can imagine most of the more serious ones) are gun-free. I'm just saying that restrictive gun laws doesn't mean you simply take the weapons from law abiding citizens and hand them over to the mob, serial killers and bank heist rings.

Meet The Harmonica Man

Kreegath says...

Let's just agree that both this guy and Bill Gates are doing good in the world, and be happy with that. Someone's philathropic efforts aren't negated by anyone else doing more.
