Kid Playing Video Games Gets Attacked by a Dog

Ghostly says...

For the record, male dogs aren't the only ones to display dominance in this way, females are also known to do it. Now it may well be a male, but I couldn't really tell. If you saw something I didn't, then just ignore me, but don't assume a dog is male because of this behaviour.

I wasn't criticizing... I merely wanted to understand why this method had to be used and you have shed some light on it perhaps but not much. Why is it stronger when pieces are laminated. It doesn't make sense to me, but I'm no engineer so I may be thinking about it all wrong. Seems to me though that the bonds between sheets of glass would be weaker than the bonds within solid glass. So I'm still puzzled. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm just trying to understand as I find this quite interesting.

I'm The guy's partner that makes the guitars. If it was cast as a mold it would not be strong enough to with stand the tension of the strings. The neck is much stronger when pieces are laminated together. It took a "Glazer" to come up with this very simple idea that seemed to be imposible to everybody else. And the guy is not even a guitarist, He's a drummer so You know He can't be that smart. He just thought about it for two days and visualized it then built it. So all You people say what You will. We're already famous and We're going to be better off then We were before, weather You think We deserve it or not. We never knew making a my space page would lead to all of this attention. I don't know anything about working with glass... but after brief research I don't understand why it can't be cast in an appropriate clay mould with cavities for components and polished with diamond pads afterwards. Would it not be possible to make a clear glass guitar in this way? Does anyone know why it's not that simple?

Worst movies clips ever part 2

Cabin Fever was brilliant. So few people recognised it for what it was. It was advertised as a typical horror/thriller but that was what made it so brilliant when you watched it and realised that the gradual increase in the ridiculousness of the movie was intentional and hillarious. It was a comedy and I laughed my arse off, and when people started walking out of the cinema or took it seriously and wondered why I was laughing it only made me laugh harder. One of my favorite movies.

Extremely Fast Choreographed Wushu Fight

Ghostly says...

LOL Wow, I got owned. In my defence I didn't just use wiki to try pretend like I know what I'm on about. It is true I have not done wushu, instead comments didn't sit right with things a friend of mine who has done a number of martial arts told me. I just wanted to convey what he had told me, but couldn't remember properly. My mistake was using wiki to try remind myself of the specifics of what he said which, having read your post, I realise I instead warped badly. I will in future try to comment only when I am confident in my own understanding of a given issue and don't need to compensate for bad memory by checking potentially questionable sources... sorry -_-;;

Extremely Fast Choreographed Wushu Fight

Ghostly says...

Even in the modern sense of the word, Wushu does involve sparring. It is composed of 2 things, "Taolu"(forms) and "Sanda" (free-fighting) or "Sanshou" (free-hand). At Wushu competitions both events are normally held, the former being the choreographed fights and the later being full contact.

To be really padantic though, Wushu is not actually a specific martial art, it literally means "martial arts" and while it is often used to refer to the choreographed fights, it also refers to free-fighting and in fact any martial art, so it's wrong to say it doesn't involve sparring either way you look at it.

EDIT: The reason for the misconception is, I think, largely due to the fact that Wushu taught in the west largely focuses on the acrobatic forms and jumps. There is generally not even any mention of the actual fighting side of Wushu.
