Ok so im guessing the downvote was because you find this revolting and think humans should not be doing this kind of shit to animal, and I agree, it's pretty repulsive.

However I think it deserves to be seen, and discussed. Perhaps I should change the tags..?

I agree with his vision on recording drums, the usually accepted "mic for each element" technique seems to lead to more work and over compressed tracks looking to single out each sound.
Drums should be viewed as a whole, not a collection of different instruments. The overall sound created is what matters.
