Amateur Video World Trade Center - 9.11.01

Avokineok says...

Man, these vids scare the hell out of Americans..

I wonder how people in other countries invaded by the USA feel about all their 100.000's of innocent loved ones that already died..

I understand people are shocked by these kind of movies, and I am too, but if it's possible (after all these years), maybe some would agree that killing thousands and thousands of innocent people in other countries is not the way to get "vengeance". (Especially if you're invading the wrong country, for the wrong reasons)

The most painful thing to me, is that all of those dying people don't even get close to the airtime 9-11 victims got.

Did anyone else notice this is just an orchestrated event in which this father deliberately went on television to show his daughters tears to the nation?

Is this just another PR stunt to get some positive news about the still ongoing war in Iraq?

It's very interesting to see that a lot of smart people are on Videosift, and I really like the vids everyone posts and the critical thinking. But still we actually haven't really got a clue about most governmental and corporate ways of influencing the media.

Now think about all the people that are taking everything they hear on the news for granted.. That makes you doubt the democratic system in which everyone get's to vote..

It's Not the White House's War on Fox...

You know, I just realized that saying a sentence and randomly add "quote" before saying just a few words of what someone has said, is a really nasty tactic of letting your audience believe everything you are saying is the way this person meant to say it..

Did anyone understand what I just said?

Alan Grayson on Chris Matthews

This is why the U.S. needs more Political Parties. The 2-party system forces people like Grayson to caucus with Blue-Dogs and Democrats of convenience.

Your 2-party system gives the voters the illusion they have choice. But I don't call it choice when both sides are talking nonsense.
In the future political debates will be interrupted by commercial brakes. Just so you know

Is he not as guilty of cherry-picking as she is? No bankruptcies because of illness in Switzerland, France or Germany? Really? The health care might be free (I assume) but if you are a entrepreneur or run a solo business, I'd think bankruptcies happen. If your business doesn't operate for 6 months while you're in a coma, that business might just be screwed. If you're paying a mortgage with the money earned from this business, you're screwed.
Disclaimer: I don't really know what I'm talking about. I assume the argument is to do with free health care but I don't know. Also, I assume it's fairly general and doesn't mean just bankruptcies directly caused by paying for health care (and if it does, it's rather meaningless). Nothing in this clip makes these clear. I don't know what I'm talking about but then how many people do?

I can assure you, that your disclaimer was correct, and the last sentence was also correct.. I think part of the problem in this American healthcare debate, is that politicians are talking about other countries like they know what's going on there, but they actually don't.. They are just pulling numbers, and missing the essence. Which is: people in western Europe have to be medically insured, if you are unable to pay for it, it will be paid by tax payers' money, because (wether you like it or not) some people can't really help being broke and some people actually need support and are not left on their own.. That's a not socialism, that's just social.

I was thinking about what it would be like to experience water from his/her point of view... looking at the way it moves and interacts with the skin, it almost seems like it would come across as jello.

I like that thought.. But in another way: What if "raindrops" the size of half your body would drop down out of the sky?

Bill Maher - New Rules (Oct 16, 2009)

Bill waits too long for his audience to start laughing.. That's the most annoying part.
I must say he's still one of the very few openly discussing (or better said: bashing) Christianity in America. I applaud that. It's a step half of Europe took decades ago, and it's about time the 'greatest country in the world' also does.

I'm always thinking about the great camera work, how do they do it?
Surely they didn't go and look for this gecko in the rain forest and be in luck that these few raindrops were falling perfectly when they had their slowmo cams ready?

As always, great vid from mr. Attenborough!
