Automated Never Ending War - Fortress

9547bis says...

"Both sides now crippled beyond repair, the remnants of their armies continue to battle on ravaged planets, their hatred fueled by over four thousand years of total war. This is a fight to the death. For each side, the only acceptable outcome is the complete elimination of the other."

Yazidi survivors rescued by helicopter

My dear, you completely fail at reading comprehension: please point where I "justify" ISIS or terrorism in any way? (Hint: I don't.)

And where is that point about Israelis coming from? (It's "Israelis" by the way, please spell it properly.) The fact that I chided bobknight33 for having advocated child-killing, because it's a horrible thing to advocate ... would somehow equate to "picking on the Israelies" ... how exactly? You seem to have one twisted mind.

Great justification for ISIS.

Or is it if no one is picking on the Israelies you feel left out? How come one groups violence can be justified by the other ?

The Migration of Cultural Pioneers over 2600 Years

9547bis says...

Since they mention it's based on a Google DB, I will go out on a limb and say it is probably quite euro-centric. A more fully-featured data set would most likely show much more movements in the Middle-East (Persian empire, Muslim golden age having preceded the Renaissance) and around China (because you don't get to be the largest economy in the world for 18 of the last 20 centuries by standing still and doing nothing).

Mad Max: Fury Road

Hmmmm,
* I don't care much about the continuity, it was always paper-thin in the previous movies anyway.
* But if it's a prequel, he must end up with a sawed off shotgun and a handful of dud shells. And a stray dog.
* I hope it doesn't turn into a 300-fest; that's a lot of shit jumping in slo-mo.
* I hope it doesn't get too MichaelBaysed, that's a lot of Orange And Teal.
* One-armed warlord Charlize Theron: more of that please.
* Max tied to that car-pillory thing: awesome idea. Turns a gimmick into a cultural thing of sort in that universe.
* ...and it's not a 'Pursuit Special' anymore. It's the last of the Interceptors.

The Economics of the Police State

9547bis says...

The depressing part is, you don't even need a War on Drugs to turn the Police State dial to 11, as can be seen by the Robocop-ification of various police forces in Western Europe (where drug problems are relatively mild compared to the USA).

On the other hand, in some places they still manage to have a decent Police force. So it's hard, but possible.

Time-lapse of American seizure of indigenous land, 1776-1893

Historically speaking, this is incorrect. The Filipino/Thai/Malaysian Negritos, the Taiwanese aborigines, the Japanese Ainu, did not get pushed to the fringe of society by Christian white men.

I'm pretty sure we could find other non-western examples.

Ha ha, see? You did it again. Straw Man fallacy. (I'm not a liberal by the way.)

Back on topic: He seems pretty hard to find, that mysterious envious record producer -- that would have proven me wrong in no time regarding you fantasizing and such -- as I can't help notice you could not come up with a single name.

Perhaps, as a "spokesperson" for "liberals," then, you'd like to clarify for me what it is that the envy-fiends "really" say?
