Southern California Sift-Up? (Sift Talk Post)

Jesus, I've ignored this thread for weeks, and now y'all are meeting close enough for me to walk! Then again, I'd have to cross the on-ramp to the 2 freeway at glendale blvd. No stop sign or light, I've never actually seen, let alone yielded to, a pedestrian there, but to be fair everyone drives that stretch pretty fast (35 zone). Its too close to drive too... Catch you next year!

Seriously, I hope everyone enjoys my neighborhood and Bavarian costumed waitresses at the Red Lion Tavern. And yield to pedestrians, you never know when it'll be a fellow sifter!

Oh, and in case anyone wants to confirm their directions: From the Interstate 5, take the 2 freeway south (Echo Park), freeway ends in about a mile (it was supposed to extend to west LA, buts that's a whole other story), exit on the RIGHT (don't actually know what that exits called since I always go the other way, but if you stay left you get dumped onto glendale blvd going the wrong way.) Turn right unto glendale blvd (heading north), the Tavern is about half a mile away (you'll go up and over a hill, the bar is near the bottom, so you won't see it until you're pretty close) and will be on your right.

I'm pretty sure you can't wander in off the street to appear on the Today Show, so i lay the blame on the producers for inviting her, as if Fox News doesn't give her enough air time.

Wow, from top 15 down to 7 votes, and back up to the teens, I'd love to see a votes vs. time plot for this clip. Oooh, where to I make feature requests?

BTW, my feathers were a little ruffled by this thread, but in the end its been a healthy debate.

I care nothing about the so-called issues in this conflict (I'm one of those VS Atheists, but a nice one), the only thing that matters to me is that, as of Jan 3, the butcher's bill stands at 4 Isrealies vs. roughly 450 Palistinians. That's not a war, that's a slaughter.

Yes, most of the dead are Hamas militants, and those militants have situated themselves to ensure some level of civilian casualties if they are assaulted, but there are still far more PEOPLE dead today than if Isreal had not started this offensive (like Iraq, but at a far smaller scale).

Please Explain Rock Band Versus Guitar Hero (Videogames Talk Post)

14087 says...

Guitar Hero 3 and World Tour are Guitar Hero in name only, the original developers of Guitar Hero 1 and 2 (Harmonix) are responsible for the Rock Band games (which is why Guitar Hero is catching up).

Technically the games are roughly equivalent. Unless you plan on buying both, your choice should be based on which group you want curating your music gaming experience: Mega-publisher Activision (they have the money for big names and exclusives), or the Genre originators Harmonix (good musical taste, surprisingly enjoyable singles from independent bands made up of Harmonix employees, warm fuzzy's for supporting the OG's). Take a look at what tracks are already available as downloadable content (DLC) for both games.
