Police shoot unarmed man, laying face down, in the back

11807 says...

why was he being detained?
why did it take two officers to pin him down?
The other detainees were relatively unattended, was Oscar resisting? If so why? If not why was he getting so much attention?

*FUBAR Channel (if there was one)

Clearly we don't know enough about what happened, other than one person should still be alive to watch his little girl grow up.

wow. this was so shitty.....
shitty shitty shitty. if you are trying to use metaphors to comment on the idiocies of standardized religion, it helps not to be transparent as balls. "you'll burn forever" Jezus FuCKING CHRIST! i hope whoever made this gets a cupboard shoved up their ass.

Clearly CaptainPlanet hasn't watched the video, "Metaphors, anger management and you."

>> ^maximillian:
For example, the mess that the Catholic church has with priests abusing children is because the Catholic church doesn't allow the priests to marry. If the Catholic church followed their own Bible they would allow them to Marry.

So you're saying the sole reason priests are molesting/raping children is because they can't marry? That is the saddest excuse I've ever heard. Those priests did those things cause they chose to and for no other reason.

2 Pac on Mega Churches and Poverty

11807 says...

Back in the day, God* needed gold ceilings and colorful windows to keep people going to church. That way the fear of God could more easily be instilled into the townsfolk and kept under control using the threat of eternal damnation. It's the exact reason why the Sistine Chapel was painted.

*corrupt douchebags who worried more about power than the teachings of any kind of religion.

Of course this isn't the reason for every church, but even so, 2pac brings up a very valid point. Who knew materialism and faith would blend so well together?

Large Bomb Detonated Under Lake

This reminds me of the mythbusters "surfing with dynamite" experiment.
They said it was busted, but that looked pretty surfable...couldn't say the same for survivability.

Hah! I remember that episode, as well. Looks like it isn't busted after all. You just need to use a bigger bomb and be farther away from the blast.

it was busted.
they were testing if the myth held up with the reported stick of dynamite. to make a large wave, a stick of dynamite is not enough.

Prank call to a bank ... please hold

11807 says...

I took up a seasonal job with Harry & David taking phone orders, and I've got to say, this is freakin' hilarious!!!!

If this happened to me, I'd laugh my ass off and enjoy the ride for a while.
unfortunately you're graded on number of sales/day so I'd have to get permission to hang up =(

recently I've been put on hold a few times from customers because they need to get a bank card, answer other phone, or deal with their customers and I don't mind it. I'm still getting paid while on hold so take all the time you want.

"Odds are, these people aren't even in the same building."
True. Though at my work I've transferred customers to customer service, only to get the guy sitting next to me =P

Timelapse of drivers failing to get up an icy hill

Ah. The south waterfront of Portland, Oregon. I love my city, but the snow always makes us look stupid. Too many ex-Californians who haven't a clue how to drive in bad weather.

ha ha yeah...I'm in Southern Oregon but grew up in Flagstaff, Az. People here are so afraid of snow, it's ridiculous! quite a few schools were canceled the other day because of the *possibility* of a few inches of snow, which of course never happened. All we got was a little ice here and there, and yet, people still find a way of getting into wrecks.

I miss being around drivers who know how to drive in the snow. Actually, I just kind of miss the snow in general.
