"Negotiations between Warner Music Group and YouTube over renewing the licensing agreement for the record label's music videos broke down Friday. Early Saturday, Warner, the third largest record label, removed videos from the Google-owned video site.

I think its clear that alot of these content holders want to go and create their own portals for their content, with their own ad revenue. Not realizing that no one wants to have 4 different accounts to view shit from 4 different providers with ads.

Sure. But if there is revenue at all to be had from these clips - it's natural that the copyright holders would want to reap it.

The question they have to ask - is if (in the case of TV clips) they are better off having them on YouTube for the promotional value they provide for the shows.

To be honest though - the more the online video market fragments - the more a site like VideoSift shines! So - bring it on, I say.
