VideoSpore?

So is anyone out there playing spore? If so, whats your EA name there?

For the uninitiated, Spore lets you share your content as its created, and you can specify 'buddies' of yours to get a greater share of their goodies (creatures, buildings, civilizations, et cetera) to populate the worlds you find yourself in.

I promise I won't release your creatures out into the vacuum of space.

I got it, its alot of fun. However it's really simple and gimmicky. I find that its like a bunch of really nice web games put together as one game.

However the technology behind the scenes is very impressive from the creature, vehicle and building creator as well as the procedural textures and graphics.

I'm on as Lurch4. It'd be nice if the game didn't auto-share all your stuff too. I didn't realize it was doing that at first when I made a bunch of useless crap to rush for the space stage. Also, it populated my world with a tribe of penis monsters within the first couple hours of playing.

I played it for a little bit, and was very disappointed. Years of development and hype for that? The DRM measures it includes are on the draconian side, and its just another example of publishers punishing those who buy their product, and the pirates getting a better experience for free.

The levels are too short. The creature editor is cool, but once you've made your penis monsters, or your spiky demons from hell, or your spiky penis demon monsters from hell, there's just not that much beyond that.

That said, I hope people out there are at least enjoying it more than I did.

I WAS going to buy this game. WITH REAL MONIES.
I don't do that very often, last games I bought were Crysis and before that Flight Simulator X.

But if someone is going to try and limit me to THREE installs I'm not going to pay for it. Anyone that is considering buying this, don't support them.

The sharing of creatures sounds awesome tho.

look me up! i am theninjafish! (my EA ID)

I think spore as a game isnt quite the awe inspiring end all entertainment, but for those that love to create things, it is what i like to refer to as

the new age digital legos.

there i said it. I dont actually play the game so much as I just sit there and make things. Then make them better. Then make other things to go along with it. Then make other things I wanted to create. Then make something completely different just for the hell of it. Then later when im not making things on spore I think of something else i want to create etc etc etc.

so basicly you have a sporegasm or you dont. Some people find its right up their alley as a creative outlet and others find that its not quite as great a game as it is hyped up to be.
