Vid fixed from Deadpool, but replaced with the wrong thing.

I had a video flagged as dead, searched for a replacement, couldn't find one and so it ended up in the deadpool.

Along came a kind soul who decided to fix the embed, but who misinterpreted/didn't read the title/tags and instead ended up fixing it with the wrong vid.

The vid posted to fix it was, in fact, a vid I had posted in the past anyway, so it is now a dupe too.

What is the protocol for dealing with this, and isn't this an inherent danger with the deadpool?

I actually think the deadpool is a really cool and necessary idea... keep the sift full of working, live, kick ass videos, but sometimes it can be tricky to figure out exactly what the vid was, especially as it is un-viewable in it's dead state.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

I marked it as dead so it will go to the deadpool again for the correct replacement. Wrong replacement is a risk with the deadpool, but I think the benefits outweigh the ocassional mistake.

Well, on YT vids you can see the thumbnail, as well as the video's length if you hit play. Other hosts? Some vids don't even show a thumbnail.

I would try for an exact copy, and the thumbnail and length should be enough to go by, but you can't get length from all the other hosts (can you?). Maybe a Deadpool primer is in order. When there are star points to be had, one person's idea of "close enough" might not be the same as someone else's.

If the lure of the star causes someone to fix a video incorrectly why not give the original submitter an invocation to remove the incorrect fix and send it back to the deadpool and at the same time revoke any star point awarded for fixing said video?
