It is of course time to kick off the second VideoSift Sift Off, after some umm... unforeseen setbacks its finally back. This competition has been pretty successful in terms of generating some free publicity for the winners, you can read a little bit about that here, and we really hope that we can get even more people to participate this time. Below you will find some general rules, and a brief blurb about how we will be promoting our winners.



Of course our usual posting guidelines will apply, in that you will not be allowed to post pornography, bigotry, or generally hateful materials. However, in that this is supposed to be a user competition we will be clamping down on excerpts from television shows that have not been significantly altered as well. We have also come up with a bit more info on how the competition will be run to give you some more information.



Submissions will be allowed from 12:01 a.m. EST August 1st until 11:59 p.m. EST Aug 31st. At approximately 12:00 a.m. EST Sept 1st voting will begin and will run until 11:59 p.m. EST Sept 30th. At that point the winner will receive a coveted link off of the front page, which will include their work, a brief bio, and a link to the web page of their choosing. This link will pass through the grubby little hands of more than 1,000,000 visitors during the month of October and is a truly fantastic way to promote yourself. Second and third place will receive honorable mentions in a less prominent local as well.



The only rules governing submissions other than the above mentioned guidelines are that they must be hosted on one of our hosting services, there may be only one per contestant, they may not have previously appeared on VideoSift, and they must include a 3 second clip at the beginning which will state verbatim "This is a Submission for the VideoSift Sift Off."
