Email me when this sift has new comments
The way it is now if you want to get email notification of new comments on sifts we did not post we have to remember to "bookmark" them. Something BTW that wasn't obvious to me and so I did not know how to take advantage of this feature for a long time.
Wouldn't it be great if next to the "Submit New Comment" button there was a checkbox that said "Bookmark (Email me when this sift has new comments)"? Checking it would bookmark it and unchecking it would unbookmark it.

yes. i sometimes forget to bookmark, and if i comment on something, that means i want to bookmark it 99% of the time. i would like autobookmark. i never use my "browse comments" because the layout is so scrolly.

I agree, this is a good idea. It might just be a matter of bring the bookmark link down to the submit comment button - and pre-selecting it.
Though I think there should be some text explaining what it will do. "Bookmark" just isn't that self explanatory in my opinion. Is there a reason we are using that term instead of something like "Subscribe"?

Hmm, "subscribe" to me sounds like more of a commitment than what it is - or something RSSish. How about "track" comments" or "notify on new comments"
It's your call...you can still call it Bookmark as long as "notify of new comments" is there somewhere. I suggested "Subscribe" because that is what I see used on a lot of message boards...you subscribe/unsubscribe from a message thread if you want to be notified of new comments for that thread. But whatever works...as long as it is placed next to the "Submit New Comment" button.
I think as a result we will see an increase of comments.
Whatever you do, I don't think you should automatically check the box. I don't want to have a million emails just because I forgot to un-check it.
