Tvext : Free Broadband TV

The TVEXT service offers on demand video content with users being able to fix their own programme schedule, it works on the same system as Gametrailers.com uses, you pick a channel of which 3 categories are available at the moment; News, Entertainment and misc. Then you are presented with various different segments or a live stream. You make your viewing selection, these are then queued into a bar below, and plays each selection sequentially.

The only caveats I have found so far are; you'll have to install their TVEXT software on your system and Microsoft's DRM for Windows Media Player. However there no ads even, because all the channels are streamed free already, only the player and the streaming is much better.

Though I think this is a small price to something that provides the following news channels:

Agence Free Press

Al Arabiya

Reuters

Al Jazeera - Not fully there but coming soon

Euronews - Full 24/7 streams in various European languages.

The Pentagon Channel

Reuters Business

White House Chronicles

UNICEF

Not surprised at all to see this happen. Am actually glad. We all know TV will die out to make way for something that will be like this. For people interested in more about this service check this article from Digital Media Asia.
