@eric3579 I never had an issue with all the details of what he is doing -- couldn't care less about bow strength and armor. I was more curious if he is ACTUALLY DOING IT, or if this was some sort of CGI.

I did find this one article about him, posted Jan 2015, with these two quotes that spoke to my issues:

"Or if I was talking to someone who had never shot a bow and arrow, I'd say he is the 'Bruce Lee playing ping pong of archery.' Experts agree that the skills demonstrated in the video are unbelievable, but also completely real. "His skillset is tremendous," says Byron Ferguson, owner of the Bare Bow Archery School and star archer on the History Channel's show, Extreme Marksmen. "These shots are legitimate, despite some video editing. His speed is almost unbelievable."

I can't tell if they have met this guy or not, or if they, too, are just looking at the videos. That other "world record"? All I can find is more videos and nothing from Guinness or anyone else.

So at present, I am going to stay neutral as to whether this guy is for reals or not.

Well, it certainly involves a lot more video editing work, so it's not exactly for the lazy. And if it cuts down the length of your video by 50%, I'm all for it for numerous reasons. Too much content out there, ain't nobody got time fo dat.

And I like it, so I think I'll culturally appropriate it.

The Sift is not being used to sell GoPro any more than it's being used to sell iphones and other camera phones. Though I agree, people could stop using the camera name in the post titles, the camera used is irrelevant to the actual video.

Edit: Anyone want a vote their opinion on removing the GoPro Name from the title??

Someone did some video editing to existing film that originally included no selfie.

Think about it; in some of those films cell phones didn't even exist yet. If you need more proof than that, there's something wrong with you.

@Chairman_woo, they claim it's easier to use - they would. It's certainly different and is based around context-sensitive commands. I've seen some of the UI in another video (edit: Trading and Mining, I think, I don't remember when but it's worth watching the whole video anyway) and I believe it works something like when you've selected (by pressing the 'target' key when aiming at it) one of your mining ships and you aim at an asteroid, the 'use' button will tell the captain to mine that.

As I recall, doing this in previous X games was something like going through a menu to select the mining ship, going through a menu to select 'mine', then going through a menu to select an asteroid, then quitting that menu to check the name again because you forgot, and then going through a menu to select an asteroid.

I was very dubious about only being to fly a single spacecraft (yes, literally one ship the whole game - I didn't believe it when I first read it either) but I've been impressed by it's implementation. I wouldn't say I'm 100% convinced, but I'm prepared to hear them out as it were. One very good ship is better than 10,000 crap ones but this rather breaks down if it's not a very good ship.
