ChaosEngine3 and 4 were Citizen goddamn Kane compared to Prometheus.
3 wasn't great, 4 was daft but stylish, but neither made me root for the giant rolling spaceship to crush the protagonists and put us all out of our goddamn misery.
Really, you would rather shame them for Prometheus instead of Alien 3 or 4?!? Prometheus had it's problems, but 1/2 alien mama Ripley clone and a level 5 biohazard containment ship that returns home automatically if things go wrong, I mean, come on. Prioritize.

It's visually very cheap looking.
The story looks a bit pretentious from what little they show (just like Prometheus). Neil Blomkamps script seems a lot more appealing to me - to finally see the company make their bio-weapons.

When I see this it just seems like a sci-fi movie promo akin to those fake Tedx talks promoting Prometheus, or a fake commercial from Robocop.

newtboyHuh? I'm pretty sure we've seen some version of this shot in every Alien movie that's been made....not including Prometheus.
EDIT: Yep....in part 1 it's that scene, but with the alien and Ripley across the escape ship from each other when it happens (it happened to be on this morning and I watched), but exact same motions. In part 2, it's during the fight between the queen and Ripley in the 'loader'.
I'm not as sure when it's in part 3 and 4...and I'm not willing to watch them again to find out. :-)

Hopefully, this will be Ridleys sci-fi redemption after Prometheus.
Also, Matt Damon's gonna start to feel like directors really want to strand him on another planet.

poolcleanerYeah, I sort of didn't want to bring him up. I'm still reeling from Prometheus... I walked out of each Star Wars and Star Trek film shaking my head wondering what happened. But Prometheus -- there wasn't a single moment I believed I was watching a film from the Alien franchise. Sad memories... sad memories...
On a lighter note, how about M. Night's new flick? Thoughts? Ahaha! Maybe this time the secret ending is that it's going to be a good film.
All of these people are capable of making good movies and television. Where does it go wrong? Why are we being dumped on with horrible, but well meaning movies? Someone tell Hollywood their formula SUCKS. We liked it before there was a formula.
If Star Wars 7 is a piece of shit, does that mean It Follows was my favorite film of the year? That would be hilarious, because I really like that film but mostly for the score. I sort of hope it's my favorite film of the year, with awesome lofi soundtrack and "F Star Wars" as my cited reasons.
The problem with Lost, like Star Trek Into Darkness, wasn't JJ. It was Lindelof. The man's a hack. Fortunately, he's not writing this.
