Brown Bear Has Heart Attack, Caught On Camera

worthwords says...

Much more likely to toxic/neurological rather than 'heart attack'. See how the legs went stiff, if it had fatal heart attach the bloods pressure drops and all tone is gone - like a faint.

MITs robotic cheetah jumping obstacles

poolcleaner says...

GO DARPA! DEFEND US. KILL US. Just do it quickly, I don't like suffering. Unless you want humanity to suffer, then ok. Fine. Needles make me faint, so avoid them if you want me consciously mauled alive, able to articulate every millionth of a second of pain.

Perhaps post-machine-apocalypse, post-horrendous-suffering-of-man, we will find peace. But what will we be? What will anything be when robot cheetahs roam free?

Puppy Doesn't Understand Hiccups

poolcleaner says...

I   puppy, said James staring out over the endless void. He didn't notice the hiccups but something was stirring in the dark recesses of memory despite the void of all eternity and what it knew while lurking in his soul.

He was still able to register the faint recollection that puppies provide stimulus. Whether or not it was positive or negative is a matter of debate, for he had been drained of all human emotion. I   puppy. Like? I like puppy? No, too much heart, too much optimism. All actions void. Language meaningless. I ALT255 puppy.

Marriage Proposal - Thug Life

lucky760 says...

The public would think "Man that chick is desperate." But yeah, assaults on males from females are still very socially acceptable.

Anyhow, LMFAHS.

I'm always so surprised by people who are so disconnected from the person they'd consider their spouse that they really don't know it could go so badly.

Note to kiddies: If a girl starts telling you NO before you even ask the question, you should either A) stop or B) pretend to faint or C) say "Haha! Just kidding! I almost got you!"

Hmm, I wonder what the public reaction would be if the sexes were reversed?

Liftoff for NASA's Orion Spaceship

Zawash says...

It's viewed at a very long range, through fog and clouds. The perspective is because of the very long range, and the image is very dimmed because of the cloud cover.
The image is underexposed, and therefore we can only clearly see the very brightest part of the image, which is the flames inside the thrusters - that part is hidden in severely overexposed flare blooms in all the other recordings. The rest of the rocket is barely seen through the clouds, and would have been a bit more visible if the image had a lighter exposure, but then the nozzles would have been bright blooms, and we wouldn't have been able to see any details inside.
If you look closely, you faintly see not only the spaceship, but also the huge flickering flame columns behind the nozzles.

Can anyone explain what's happening at about 1:20, where you can see a faint image of the rocket, it's trail, and then what looks like a clear image of the inside of the rocket nozzles WAY back (and farther apart than they really are)? At first I thought this might just be a focal point of the exhaust, but it's not just a point of light. Is this some known optical effect, or is something else going on here?

Chop Suey in Rock Band 2 on Real Drums with the Omega GM-1

Zawash says...

The sound we hear hasn't got anything to do with the drums played in the video, other than faint thuds from hitting the pads - watch the drum fill at 0:29 - he plays a drum fill, but we still hear the regular drums from the original track.

As well - even if this was a "proper" rock band recording, you'd only trigger the pre-recorded sounds anyway, save for the odd drum fill.

For a Rock Band session to qualify as a livemusic, in my opinion, you'd have to overdub the drums with the sounds generated from a proper drumkit - electronic or acoustic.

And yes, I own and play rock band myself - I have an Alesis Dm10 kit hooked up with MIDI for proper drums, the Rock Band Keyboard for proper keyboard and the Fender Squier plastic fantastic "Strat" for MIDI guitar. It is especially fun with friends and beer.

Why is this not live music ? if sum one was playing the drums from sheet music with a tape recording of the other instruments they are doing exactly the same thing.
