Peter Gabriel is a genius. he has consistently produced amazing music. If you haven't listened to his work with Genesis do so. It is amazing music, Foxtrot and selling England by the Pound are works of art.
I saw his first live show after leaving Genesis, it was one of the best live shows i have seen.

He was quite the visual artist for a while there, too.

I agree, he should be up there with Carlin and Pryor but he went too mainstream for some people I guess so he gets left out of it.
Sorta like how Louis CK points out that Seinfeld is a genius at comedy but most people see him for only his show and being an actor instead of a comic.

I don't think it's that; The Cosby Show was just like his standup comedy. Hell, quite a few of the shows were just acting out the stories he used to tell on stage. I think it's just that he wasn't the least bit edgy. He was hilarious but he was very "safe". No controversy, no swearing, no risky topics. I think he's just seen as a naive old man by most people who are my age or younger.

But he seems to be known more for his pudding commercials than any of his work now, so maybe you're right in that sense.

It's a shame how much flak Cosby takes these days. He was such a great storyteller comic. He doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

@vaire2ube
Okay, Dr. Paul didn't write them and had no knowledge about someone writing racist crap under his name for 5 years--No Knowledge!?!

5 YEARS!?!!!

At best that shows extremely bad judgment--at worst he's lying.
Not someone I'd want as Commander-in-Chief.

I watched the first 2 seasons of Oz when they were broadcasted here... For some reason I stopped after that... I think it is one of the best prison shows that's been created.

I downloaded the six seasons of the series OZ before I went away last week. Now I'm in the middle of binge watching the show. I'm about to begin watching season five now after watching thru four brutally dark seasons in two and a half days. I'm saying this because that doc so relates right now. absolutely brutal.
Here's the show... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118421/

Cheers. It is the most depressing show ever, but so very well done.

I *love* reginald d hunter. On panel shows and stuff, he's pretty much my favourite. Even the best panel show comedians love him. Check out mitchell and lee mack when they have him on would i lie to you. They laugh their heads off at him.
