A Bass solo so good it causes a master to miss his cue
That was awesome. Thank you>> ^hPOD:
Really good, but honestly, from the title -- I expected even better. Don't jump on me for it, either...it's much better than I could dream of doing, but it was just...boring to me.
Forward this video to 2:53 for what I consider a truly amazing bass solo.

I just wish a tech had cranked her up from 4 to 7 on that. Maybe the intricacies come out better when not being played on macbook speakers, but just too damn low for such a great solo.
Seconded! Then again, I feel the bass line is mixed in too low in practically every recording ever made... Did I mention I play bass (although nowhere near *that* well)?

Jaco Pastorius, Slang /Third Stone From The Sun
Damn, I can't believe I forgot to mention Jaco Pastorius when I tried to help therealblankman prove that nothing clears a room faster than a bass solo.

In my 15 or so years of professional concert production, on thing I've learned above all else is that nothing clears a room faster than a bass solo.

What about Geddy Lee? Or Billy Sheehan? Victor Wooten? Jean Baudin? Larry Graham? Louis Johnson? Norwood Fisher? Flea? Les Claypool? Mick Karn?
Thank you for helping me prove my point.
