Help for Those of You Migrating from Razzleberry

If you were redirected to this page from Razzleberry, you're probably seeing the address of this page starting with http:// 216.18.199.34 but that leaves you unable to browse VideoSift normally.

Follow either of these two sets of instructions to fix your computer:
  1. Edit your "hosts" file

    • Look at Wikipedia to find the location of the file named "hosts" on your computer. On Windows XP, Vista, and 7 it is located here: %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\ (where %SystemRoot% is most likely c:\windows).

    • Open the file with the program called Notepad (from Start -> Programs -> Accessories)

    • Add this line to the bottom of the file then save it:
      216.18.199.34 videosift.com www.videosift.com
    • (If you're a Mac user and can't figure out your hosts file, try a link or two.)
  2. Change your computer's preferred DNS servers (requires more tech savvy)

    • On Windows: In Local Area Connection Status -> Properties -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) -> Properties (on most computers) just set your "Preferred DNS server" to 8.8.8.8 and your "Alternate DNS server" to 8.8.4.4 - these are Google's DNS servers that they provide for the public

    • If necessary or if not on Windows, read full instructions here

    • After changing your DNS it may help to open a Command Prompt and type:
      ipconfig /flushdns
We apologize for the ridiculous delay in getting you switched over, but hopefully your local DNS will be updated very soon.
