February 17th marks the 4th Siftiversary of the beginning of VideoSift. We're going to celebrate the occasion like we usually do with a maudlin retrospective and flagons of red wine. But this year, we thought we'd try a bit more. Here's the plan:

Siftiversary Video Festival

Until February 17th we're relaxing our self-submission rule to let people submit entries in the festival.

All videos must be new, original creations of the submitter- and must have something to do with VideoSift. We're pretty liberal on this- so if it's a documentary about flour Sifters- we'll accept it.

Make sure you put a tag of "siftiversary" in the post- and probably a good idea to link back to this post somewhere in the description so people don't mistake you for a dirty self-submitter. ;-)

We can all vote on these posts like a standard video submission but *Festival* voting will take place on the 17th through 20th via a poll in Sift Talk.

Beyond these prizes, all submissions with get fortune and glory by being linked into a dedicated playlist that will be displayed site-wide for 1 month! That's around 2.6 million potential views or more for your post on VideoSift with the possibility it could go viral on other sites as well.

In addition to the video festival- we'll be opening up The Lounge all day on the 17th (servers pertmitting) - accessible by every logged in member of the Sift.
