Wayne Brady Has Fallen To A New Low

Throbbin says...

Really? I don't think so. Between the zany, low-rent crowd, the stupid costumes, and the lame dialogue and jokes I thought this was pretty bad. Yes, Drew Carey is doing better, and good for him. This show just comes off as a cheap runner-up to The Price Is Right.

I would have pictured him with his own comedy show by now (a-la chappelle show). I never thought he was that funny, but apparently he has a huge fan base. Even that lame "Don't forget the lyrics" gameshow was a step-up from this.>> ^EmptyFriend:

seems like a pretty good gig for someone from a moderately successful improv comedy show. what else would you picture him doing? even drew carey has basically the same job now, albeit for a better show.

Mr. Ballmer, would you sign my mac?

spoco2 says...

I cannot believe that The Age (the 'respectable' one of the Melbourne newspapers) actually labeled this an 'oddball outburst'.

How the hell was this anything other than taking a bit of provocation in his stride and signing his Mac? Bloody hell they'll label anything this man does as 'cooky' or 'zany' these days.

Personally I think this shows a better side of him than most things I've seen of him...

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist - Original Trailer

Payback says...

This movie has the distinction of being the only movie I have ever walked out of. It was about the point where the voiceover was going on and on and on for about 15 minutes about the guy punching a hole in the other guy. Luckily Blackhawk Down was starting just next door.

I love the Naked Gun movies, I love Monty Python, I even got into Brazil. I have no fear of "stupid" or zany humour.

This movie sucks anal discharge.

Oh, and about evaluating avatars - I think they can be both positive and negative. I mean, every time I see Stanley Kubrick I think "smart, thinker, perfectionist" etc, which obviously is a COMPLETE misdirection.
In the same way, an avatar can heighten the meaning of a comment, like with body language, same with the background color and user name color.

So when Gwiz had Dr. Zoidberg as his avatar I was mildly amused by his zaniness, then he switched to Seth Rogan and I kinda felt sorry for him; now I think he's a cold bastard with a huge wang.

What a kook.
If I wanted a zany view of the future, I will rent Back to the Future 2, 2010 Space Odyssey and the Jetsons.
If I wanted to hear a kook's view of the future, I'll get my uncle a bottle of JD. He is still shopping for a hard drive to download the whole Internet before he has enough space on his calculator-watch to store it all. Did I mention he wants to cyrogenically-freeze his head until they can cure whatever'll cut his life short from eternity?

You know, if I were you, I wouldn't bash a patenter of ~23 inventions, multi millionaire, successful futurologist, etc, etc...yes, he might sound a bit crazy, but if you really take time to think about what he says it really sounds very possible and the guy is super intelligent.

I would say that their style could be considered a 'new trend' only if you haven't been paying attention to (western indie-pop) music for the last 10+ years. In fact, if I had to label them I would call them new wave more than anything... there's a lot of B-52's-esque zaniness in their work!

That being said, I fucking LOVE the Saved By the Bell theme!

I Can't begin to tell you how small minded that makes you sound. He's an insanely intelligent and successful man- and if you take the time to read his book A LOT of what he has predicted has already come true. I'm not here preaching that hes a soothsayer and that everything he says will come true, but he is most certainly not a "kook" who is just pulling crap out of his ass.

I see a similarity between much of what you have said and much of what was said about other great thinkers of our time. You have to realize ALL progressive thinkers seem crazy, that is until whatever they postulate comes true.

^ Go to any improv club in any major city and you'll see guys doing it "Week after week". In fact, a lot of these very same guys were local improv dudes, yukking it up with their "zany" and "wild" antics here in LA for years and years.

Meh.
