I don't know about you guys but I appreciate black people and culture. All of my favorite music was copped from a black man take for instance the original dub music which was called "Blue Beat" into the genius that is Lee "Scratch" Perry which was copped by every little white guy with a strat and suit to create shit-ska, or even much before that - Bukka White slapping his steel string guitar which was copped by many a mountain crooner - Can't forget the crazy zany and otherworldly Sun Ra Arkhestra of which many a neo-post-rock project wish and try to copulate; or how about the little-known noise/trance/congotronic Congolese group I rip off a lot named Konono No. 1? And I mean I didn't even begin to speak about Ethiopian music from the 60-70s (check out Ethiopiques or just try on Muhmoud Ahmed - f'n amazing).

But, outside of music even though there has been a black history month for a long ass time now kids just don't understand Dr. King! Listen to his damn speeches, oh young and flighty ones - he didn't just speak about his dreams he spoke about "RADICAL ECONOMIC RECONSTRUCTION"! As history repeats itself it is evident to remember to pay attention to your local black community; they know what is going on!

Read this the other day and another one by Harris that addresses some irksome things about the recent TED (Libs vs Cons) video in the Top Sifts. Her qualifications wouldn't be an issue, because she would be still a weather lady, if people had some standards in the first place. I agree with Blankfist, but I think what Sam is referring to when he says "elite", is being well prepared and qualified (exceptional ability/affinity) for the given job, not the intelligence itself though I may be mistaken. Intelligence, of which there are many kinds of, alone does not guarantee success in everything.

The fact that she's made it this far is mind-boggling and very telling of the state of education and emphasis on it's importance in our country. People willingly voted her into office, and she earned their vote. Like he says, more value is placed on the image of confidence in one's position over whether it's actually true or reasonable ("How dare you try to invalidate my views and show them to be inconsistent with mere facts and truth, pfft!"), especially when it comes to public servants who are supposed to further the common good, therefore requiring even more expertise in any number of areas unlike many other professions which have a more specialized focus in one area. Bitch is clearly out of her league. Though, I'm one to talk.

I guess people would rather be entertained by her zany antics and how she will unblinkingly "shake up" Washington, come January. Unfortunately, superficiality is one of the mainstays of our culture. It feels like we're approaching another, even more dysfunctional 80's-ish era all over again.

Yeah it was Robotron alright, but it was a lot more too. It had an extra colourful spacy psychotropic element that a vid doesnt really get across.

Imagine its the early to mid 90's and your playing this on a big tv all the colours and latest graphical effects, plus the zany sound effects really turned up the experience.

Plus it was free and I probably played it more than most commercial games. Llamasoft were pretty great, they gave lots of classi games a Llama themed makeover and released them free. Attack of the Mutant Camels anyone?

One thing I hate about radio is all persons near the mic seem to be assigned a familiar whos job it is to provide back up giggles and snorts of derision. That seems to go for everything from "zany" breakfast shows to pundit stuff.

Whatever nonsense is being put forward always has the appearance of a majority opinion. BillO remains consistently Billo by cutting the guy off before he can say anything in response.

I have a feeling that some of this was not really delved too deeply into, just latching on to any old myth about him. I note that they start with his more plausible inventions and then get progressively more zany... I mean c'mon, some mysterious Navy SEAL ranting on about "oh yeah, we have awesome particle weapons nowadays", and some reverberating device that nearly brings down a building? We all know what became of the Star Wars program.

Still, he was obviously a remarkable person and humanitarian. I'd heard about AC current being attributed to him before, so I would like to think that much of this is factual.
