Team Trump's Absurd Defenses for Don Jr.'s Emails: A Closer

dannym3141 says...

I really credit world leaders. When he tries to pull them off balance, i would have no issues with wrenching his arm around as hard as i could, regardless of what it looked like to the press. Snide bastard with his powerplay bullshit.

Plumber Causes Major Flood In Apartment

This is why you only hire licensed and bonded plumbers. Sure they can sue him...but for what? A shop vac?
$150 to turn off the water? It's simple, use a wrench to turn the valve...why pay?

US nuclear arsenal is a gigantic accident waiting to happen

Mordhaus says...

Here is the problem, Mr. Schlosser is a journalist, not a Nuclear Scientist. He does not understand, or has chosen to ignore for propaganda reasons, that an unarmed warhead is EXTREMELY unlikely to perform the exact sequence of events that need to take place to have a nuclear reaction happen.

Yes, he is fully correct in that we have had numerous 'butt-clenching' moments in which we could have started WW3 due to a malfunction or human error. But in the other cases he mentions, such as the bombs that landed on Spain, the lightning bolt on the tower, and the wrench on the rocket, the chance of the warhead going up while being unarmed is infinitesimal. They simply don't go 'boom' because of a collision or explosion. Now you could have a 'dirty bomb' type incident where the radioactive materials could be spread and come into contact with humans, but that is about it.

The cases that have been officially listed as Broken Arrows were because they involved an active bomb, like the one in Florida. Everything else he mentions in this video is his 'belief' and is conjecture.

Now, before I get unloaded on, I wish we didn't have nuclear weapons. I don't agree with Trump that we should renew the arms race, I think he is nuts since we have more than enough weapons to blanket the cities of the world more than a couple of times. If you add all the nukes from the Big 3 (USA/Russia/France...yes, France) there are enough to cover every single inch of the world.

The problem is, who bells the cat? If we give up all of our weapons, we are at risk. I wish we weren't, but we would be. If we bring down our numbers gradually, there are still other countries that may not, like North Korea. How do we trust the other country is actually following through? In a perfect world, we would all lay down our weapons and sing kumbaya, but as Heinlein wrote: "...Anyone who clings to the historically untrue and thoroughly immoral doctrine that violence never settles anything I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler could referee and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk, and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and their freedoms."

PS...Yes, I know Starship Troopers is a controversial novel with overtones of Militarism and Fascism. However, there are quotes that ring true no matter what 'ism' people attach to the overall story. If you doubt that, look at the utter disbelief and depression that overcame liberals when Trump won. "He simply was supposed to, it was impossible, not like this, we have no hope, etc" were the feelings of the people who gave him no hope of winning. I, having lived and read enough to get a fair picture of how fucked up we are as a species, had little doubt he could pull it off. We elected a former Wrestler as governor, a former actor as governor, and a former actor as President. We overlook mass genocide in other countries. We ignore climate change. We spend hundreds of billions on defense and less than 10 on space exploration, all the while living on a planet that is already critically overpopulated (and is growing almost exponentially).

Running single-cylinder engine made from paper!?

spawnflagger says...

It's cute, but it's not an engine. There's just air coming in through the straw that causes the piston to go up and down.
We don't call air tools (such as impact wrench) engines.

Gas employee beats family's dogs with wrench

newtboy says...

F*ck that. I see some douchebag in my yard swing a wrench at my dogs, he's never leaving the yard. I don't care a whit if he has a reflective vest on. I don't even care if he has a gun and a badge, it'll be high noon at the OK corral and we'll see who aims better.
That guy damn well better be fired, and the gas company sued.
I would like to see his name and address posted. He needs to lose a few teeth and an eye himself.
If you go into someone's yard unannounced and they let the dogs attack you, that's 100% YOUR fault. I don't think that's what happened here, the dogs seemed to already be in the yard and NOT attacking until he swung the wrench, but even if it was what happened, the guy and gas company are still 100% in the wrong....and the guy is really damn lucky to be alive.
I shouldn't have watched. This kind of crap boils my blood.

Brilliantly Simple Rotary Wood Splitter

Ickster says...

I wonder if this is really an improvement over other methods. I bet that wood has to be really dry for it to work so easily; I can imagine something like a fresh elm log getting stuck on that bit and wrenching the motor right off its mounts.

jon stewart-rage against the rage against the machine

newtboy says...

People who believe that are mistaken.
As I've told you before, I had an instance where an officer misread my license plate and assumed my car was stolen, so he yanked me out of my car angrily and forcibly at gunpoint, throwing me to the ground and jumping on me, wrenching my arms back and handcuffing me as tight as humanly possible....while I did absolutely nothing but comply. When he finally figured out his mistake, he was insulting and threatening, telling me to not report it because he had my address. (And that's not the only inappropriate police activity I've been subjected to by police)
My feelings about how police act come from direct personal experience with them.
That is proof enough in my eyes that your statement is simply ridiculous. It's certainly looking like most people today think that no matter how you act, if you are targeted by police, you are in serious danger for your freedom and safety (guilty or not), and there's absolutely nothing you can do to avoid the assault. Today, only a small percentage of people think otherwise, and many of them either wear or wash a uniform (meaning are closely related to a cop).

I think the majority of people believe that if you act civilized you will not have any trouble with the police, and that the police have a difficult job to do and that the police will risk their lives to protect the lives and property of others.

Only a small percentage of people believe otherwise.

ha ha..thanks man.
i lived closer to the coast.
off oakland and andrews.worked at yesterdays on the intracoastal and marks in los olas,i also dj'd (and bounced) at the crazy horse off A1A.met motley crue there a couple of times.

the concentrated wealth was a tad further north from where i lived, boca and west palm.

you may have been a bit west in places like davie...fairly rural and yes..conservative..but money talks and davie does not have that kind of clout.
i saw the same practices when i lived on miami beach.though the criminalizing is a new thing, before they just shuttled the homeless and undesirables away.

icky homeless people are bad for tourism

i think we pretty much agree across the board.when a hard line conservative talks about "pulling yourself up by your boot straps" we know that is bullshit speak for 'fuck you poor person,i got mine" but i have a problem with a supposed "liberal" who talks the language of compassion and humanity but dont actually practice it in a hands on way.

the hardliner shows disdain for the poor, and while repugnant,at least it is honest.
but when a liberal, who wrings their hands over the plight of the homeless, yet pushes through ordinances that criminalize the very thing they are saying that is heart-wrenching for them..i find hypocritical.

i remember i was an event co-ordinator for the hilton fountain blue and did a bee-gees (yes..you read that right) birthday party on their west palm home.i dorve a beat up toyota tercel( i have always lived simply, like a hippy) and i was asked to park it 4 blocks away at a u-store it facility.

no valet for me!

do you know what its like to walk 4 blocks in august?in florida? in 300% humidity?
i was a wet rag by the time i got to their mansion.
i literally had to sneak a shower while my clothes were drying!

but..i did get 10% of everything,and that party cost a cool 250.000.

soooooooooo

WORTH IT!

i live just north of tampa now.new port richey.the number ONE place for painkiller/xanax deaths in the country!

we are so proud.
