Miss the old way of showing OLD videos that just got ten/10 votes to first page? (User Poll by ant)

lucky760 says...

Dear Ant,

Can you please confirm you have "Newness" selected on the front page?

That listing is without any doubt displaying published videos in order of newest publish date. This is the listing of the latest published 15 videos as directly fetched within the database:
Best Drive Thru Prank Ever
Porn Sites (RealLifeDickParty.com) - Aziz Ansari
Everything Wrong With The Hunger Games In 4 Minutes Or Less
Close Your Eyes and Fall Down
You ever get so broke, that it just becomes funny to you?
Russian Extreme Sport Mountain Ball Ends In Tragedy
The wobbly beam of the Vela pulsar
Chinese Don't Need No Stinkin' Cannons
Tosh.0 - Uncle and Niece Talk
Male to Female - 3 Year Timeline
The Ronettes - Baby I Love You (Isolated Vocals)
New Changes to YouTube?
The new russian 5th generation stealth fighter Sukhoi T-50
Atheist TV host boots Christian for calling raped kid "evil"
Star Trek TNG - Test Footage

That listing is identical to the videos currently displayed in the front page's Newness listing.

If you'd like, you can continue pretending I'm not here and respond to Dag again, but I'm sitting right here.

Sincerely,
lucky760 (not Dag)

Dag, go find an old submitted video (e.g., a year old is a good age) that has not been bumped to the front page with less nine votes. Vote it up to ten votes so it can be go to the front page. However, it is not on the front page. It is buried on page #<whatever number beside 1>.

Go Home Crane.........You're DRUNK!!!

robbersdog49 says...

Looks like it was being pulled over from off screen. I thing the engine sound isn't the crane, it's whatever is pulling it. That's why they were filming, and that's why no one was in the crane, hence the reaction of the people watching. If it was in normal use with someone in it they'd be a little more concerned, and probably not filming. The wobbling is the camera shaking.

Water drops floating on water

KnivesOut says...

My guess is that in order for the two bodies of water (the main body and each droplet) to coalesce, their molecules have to agree on a resonating frequency. When there is no other interference, the droplets take on the frequency of the larger body almost immediately. Since the main body is resonating at a frequency above normal, the droplets can't "catch up", and so bounce and wobble along, trying to achieve equilibrium with the larger body, and failing.

Just a guess.

Is Doctor Who a Religion? | Idea Channel | PBS

oritteropo says...

I reject Clifford Geertz's definition of Religion. I would argue that the fact that you can use this definition to argue that Dr. Who is a religion, even though the majority of fans would not, counts against it.

Also, I have heard Who fans intone wibbly wobbly timey winey... their research was incomplete

Does anyone know why this video looks warped at times? I've seen others like this and can't figure it out.

It's YouTubes new image stabilisation effect that artificially steadys wobbly hand held footage that is uploaded.

It's only a matter of time before Kanye West uses this effect in a video as if he invented it.

This is NOT DUBSTEP. This electro, im not meaning to be a music snob or anything but when people blanket any thing with a wobble noise in it as dubstep, it continues to lead people astray from what is an awesome genre.
Pls youtube Kode 9, Mala, Breakage, Seven, Kryptic Minds, Youngsta for some actual dubstep.

Ok you guys have officially come up with too many damn names for types of electronic styles of music. -_-

I considered it dubstep because its pretty much a mashup of dubstep songs. If that makes it electro then so be it. Still sounds good.

Ahh, I hate that software based image stabilization, it makes for fricken freaky results. Stop doing it... STOP IT!

That's what that is!? I thought it was my first experience with vertigo...I didn't know what the hell was going on.

Is that the warping that happens a few times? It had me wondering if the bridge wasn't maybe perfectly straight and normal, it's just the camera that's FUBAR.
That effect is Youtube's image stabilization. It makes image a bit wobbly, but if it's wobbly like that then you'd get a headache from watching the original shackeycam footage.

Old man has mad yo-yo skills

Why is this in the 80's channel? It seems to me that the camera work and style it's shot in are definitely current (~2000-2010, digital, crappy MTV camera wobble, etc).

Just because something is recorded after the 80's doesn't mean it's not related to the 80's.

Yo-yo's are definitely 80's and even 90's, but I haven't seen a yo-yo in over 15 years in real life.

Gyroscopic self-leveling pool table on A cruise ship - WOW!

messenger says...

It would be cool too to see the camera on the table, with the whole room shifting around it, which would be closer to the case, anyway.>> ^CheshireSmile:

i like how the camera is with the floor, so it looks like the table is wobbling, then it blew my mind when the balls weren't rolling around.
