Dummy Hypnotises Ventriloquist

noims says...

Nina's easily the most original ventriloquist I've ever seen, and I pity the day when I don't *promote one of her videos. Now I have to find time to look for some of my favourites and make sure they're here... it's going to be a fun day.

I think if you saw the astonishing, death defying, hilarious, and technologically advanced, artistically inventive adult acts also under the pressure of live performance, that all lost out to two cute girls, one of which sang well, not great, the other who played with dolls and was a cute blond girl so she won, you would likely think something similar if you aren't just insane for children.

Her act was worthy of winning her school talent show, not this.

Singing sweetly? To your ears, maybe. I heard far better singers this year that lost. She wasn't awful, but not a singer either.
Forgotten time? This is the second ventriloquist that's won AGT in the last 2 seasons...it should be forgotten, but it just won't die.

That's what.

First I swear I'm not stalking you. I was going to write off your comments as trollish or whatever. A video unrelated later, a picture of britney spears (hey she's hot) , and I find this comment discussing Britts talent.

": newtboy: While I do get your point, I think perhaps you miss the point that a real live singing/playing concert is different from a 'pop star concert' (although I do think they should be billed as 'pop star performances', not 'concerts').
If I go to the opera, I am expecting to hear people sing live while performing a play.
If I go to a 'concert', I expect to see a singer or band singing or playing live, but not doing much else (old Van Halen and GWAR being the exceptions).
If I go to a pop star performance, I usually expect to see flashing lights, smoke, sparks, special effects, stunts, and crazy dancing while you hear a track of the performer.
It's not possible to do the stage performance AND sing competently at the same time. If I expect to see dancing, I should not expect the dancer to also sing live, that's not realistic to me."

But this 13 year old, with the pressure she is under singing as sweet as she does, while being humourous at the same time using talent from a forgotten time of family entertaining. What do you expect from this show? I've literally never watched an episode, saw this and was amazed, and here you are all high and mighty on her. wtf?

I hate ventriloquists, I don't think it's a talent, and the profession should have died with Madame. Darci barely counts as one. I see her lips and neck move every time she speaks through her unnaturally clenched open mouth...."stand there with your mouth closed like you always do"...really?! She can't, her mouth is open the whole time. She won for being a cute white girl playing with dolls, imo.
I hate when kids join adult talent competitions and get more points for "cute" than adults get for actual talent.

Her winning was the death nail for AGT for me. So much amazing talent discarded for .....this. I'm done with them, have fun being a kid's talent show....the kind even parents avoid like the plague.

John Cleese and Eric Idle's New Song - "F*** Selfies"

I couldn't agree more, I never will see the appeal in this practice of taking picture after picture after picture of yourselves. With either the bug-eyed shit-eating ventriloquist dummy face, or the dull blank bovine staring at the computer screen look. Or the 3rd one, that combination unsure shrug smirk face that I have only ever seen when someone is taking a picture of themselves. There was a time when people only did that shit in front of the bathroom mirror, now it's their LinkedIn profile picture.

It's hard to take some MBA project manager seriously at the office after seeing their painfully close-up duck-lips bedroom-eyes headshot online. Or when they send me a Lync message and their bloated pasty mug shows up in HD technicolor on my computer screen. I can't click on IGNORE fast enough.

Where to start……
The forced laughter when someone’s buddy is filmed wiping out - AH hahaha AH hahaha

99.9% of “selfies”, I despise that word. I don’t want to see your pasty bloated pimply mug so close-up like we’re jammed in a fuckin elevator and I can count your nose hairs. Wearing either the blank dumb look people have when looking at their computer screen or camera phone, or the overly gleeful shit-eating ventriloquist dummy look, All it takes is a camera lens to make people go ape-shit, like a baby making faces in a mirror. When did that shit become normal?

Any kind of rambling monologue with the subject weighing in on the stupid shit of the day, like they are some wise head of state being interviewed on some crisis. Or filming themselves narrating at the scene of some non-event, like they are Edward Murrow reporting on the London Blitz.

The vast majority of trend videos, like “Things New Yorkers Say”, etc. They generally have high production values but ZERO talent on the actual writing. The “punchlines” are usually weak or non-existent, apparently there’s no such thing as out-takes anymore. It’s usually weak material followed by long pauses, which I guess if you drag it out long enough it somehow becomes funny. “Modern Family” and “The Office” have beat that non-punchline pause to death. “Spinal Tap” was the only mock-umentary that ever worked, everything else is just weak.

Idiots who edit videos and who don’t have the basic sense to accommodate people who haven’t seen the material. I’m watching a video on YouTube of vacation snaps from someone’s trip to the mountains of Chile, and they leave each photo onscreen for about 1.2 seconds, with the editor’s goal to use every single transition available in the editing palette to move on to the next picture. It’s amateurish.

Someone else mentioned videos with overly long intros\titles and I agree. It's not "Gone With the Wind", it's a video of your dog pissing in your living room, just get to it.

Back in a few, going to pour my second cup of the day. :-)

Ventriloquist Picking Up Girls On The Subway

What kind of karma does one have to get hit-upon through a ventriloquist's dummy on the subway anyhow?? I'd have to go home and lose my love.com account and go hit-up some strange!
