The Ingenious Way South Korea Unclogs Toilets

newtboy says...

OK, I see your points but....
1)with the plunger right there in it's holder, I never let it get close to spilling over, what a mess that would be (and there is a heat vent right there, UGH!)

2)I try to be careful plunging and not splash at all, but you do have a good point here, it would be cleaner, especially for those that get crazy plunging.

3)I leave the plunger in the toilet and flush again (at least once), to rinse it off some before removing it at all, then place it in it's holder. Granted, that's a bit nasty, but it never smells, and I give it a spray of bleach too. Every so often, while it's dry, I take it outside and wash it in the yard where the sun will sterilize everything.

The plastic seems to require you to clean before AND after, by hand at first BEFORE you can plunge (edit: with your face right next to the clog!)...and that's impossible if it's overflowing! Then what?!? A plunger can be cleaned up after at your leisure (better be before the wife needs the toilet though) and with scrubbing bubbles and/or bleach if that's your preference.

It may be strong enough to survive 'plunging' with your hands, but I certainly don't want to be the one to test that, or to find out it wasn't! It looks like if you don't get a perfect seal (so a perfect dry and clean rim first) it could easily detach. UGH!

Disposing the plastic requires you to take it to the garbage bag (or the bag to it) and then to take out that bag, which may or may not mean dripping it through your home, depending on your bathroom garbage. (mine has no bag)

All that said it's an interesting idea, but I think I prefer the plastic plunger. To each his own though.

Yes, it is way better.
1). First, that toilet isn't going to spill over. Ever had that happen? And with a heat register near by? Disgusting.
2). Two, do you realize how much Feces is splashed around the bathroom when you plunge? Not just on your floor, but walls, and on you, your clothes and possibly your face. It's not just the big drops, but the little ones, the ones that practically become airborne.
3). Three, Clean up afterwards, once you're done with a plunger, you need to clean it off, and if there is stuff sticking to it, as you can guess, that's not fun either. Not to mention, where are you going to clean it? in the bathtub? After you sanitize the plunger, now you have to sanitize the tub, or sink, or what ever as well.

-You're going to need to wipe down that toilet whether you plunge or use this sheet.
-This plastic sheet, looks strong enough that it's not going to break.
-And disposing it. Well, lifting it into a garbage bag, that just seems way easier.

For me, it was Bugs Bunny where one episode had someone vacuuming and they went over the heat vent and sucked burning coals from the basement furnace into the vacuum and basically set the house on fire. I never went near the heat vents with the vacuum until much later in my life. Never mind that we had natural gas heating and not coal.

The damage to the battery probably caused a short circuit, leading to thermal runaway. Li-ion batteries have a vent to avoid explosion risk, which seems to have turned this particular example into a rocket!

They are also prone to this behaviour if mistreated electrically (over charged, over discharged, overheated...).

Is this something they they put in so they can tell if it's been tampered with inside... because people pull batteries out all the time... What is that thing???

Man Escapes 5 Yr Sentence After Dash Cam Footage Clears Him

As a cop for over 30 years I can say this. Every police dept is different. They all have different expectations. If one dept is rotten, it's because the chief is rotten. The attitudes of the PD comes from the top down.

I was stunned when I heard a cop from another dept tell me he used to go around at night and spray pepper spray into a car's windshield vent because the car owner was a known shithead. That's when I began to realize that all police dept. are different.

Cops are reluctant to rat on other cops because cops know that when the chips are down, you can rely on your fellow officers to do everything in their power to save your ass from death and destruction. At the same time, some crooked cops are not going to be crooked 100% of the time, they will also stand between an average citizen and a bullet.

A cop can't be crooked 100% of the time, but he can break the law on occasion. Personally, I have no respect for an officer who will plant evidence or abuse prisoners or anyone else. But then, that's just the way we do things at our PD.

On the other hand, you have to understand that when a cop is testifying in court that he found several severed heads in a car trunk, the judge is going to want him to say it was all a legal search...whether it was or not.

Also, i don't believe cops should get special consideration. Most of them are already well compensated and they shouldn't be in it for the perks.

I'm in it for the adrenalin rush. It's the only job where you can jump over fences chasing a bad guy.

"the point is that RICH FUCKS fund politicians and fuck us over."

Like this one?

You do realize that saying that you're "destroying" something is not the same as actually destroying anything, right? I mean, whatever you may think.

It is true that Obamacare is a failure for those who thought they'd get anything else from Obama. It's a success for those it is intended to benefit. Just like all state programs.

Anyway, good luck with your Videosift punditry.. venting your powerlessness over irrelevant media always seems like a pointless strategy to me.. But, hey, knock yourself out.

You post a video about one of the fucking Koch brothers being taken to task for calling people an innocuous word I will heartily destroy it. However whenever I see something about the Koch brothers it's less about what they've been saying and more about the shit they've been funding.

They're not even the point, the point is that RICH FUCKS fund politicians and fuck us over. The Kochs just so happen to fund a lot of bad shit so they've become a real target.

I still think that open comments on the Internet are essential. As horrible as some may be, its still better than to censor people, who are simply venting there instead of sucking it up and eventually exploding in something more horrible than a fucking few letters.
People need to get more tolerant and need to have more self esteem and also think more before bursting out into a pile of emotions. Not everyone has a nice life, not everyone can afford the things they want, not everyone had much luck in life with anything. In a fucked up society like ours, you cant fix everything, and some fixes will make it even worse.
Ignoring bad things will only make them worse. Its that simple.
