Man Faces Jail Time for Recording Plainclothes Cop

Porksandwich says...

I could see them using it to protect the identities of plainsclothes or undercover police, but then again these same individuals would not be pulling their car into the pathway of other other vehicles and getting out gun in hand......since it kind of makes it hard not to notice them.

I suspect that they want the audio taken out of the video and it destroyed......so that when that guy decides to countersue for extreme and dangerous action being taken to stop a speeder...there won't be multiple seconds of an armed individual on there not identifying himself as police as he bears down on his unsuspecting victim.

I have never seen an unmarked vehicle pull someone over in that way, and usually they have hidden red and blues on the vehicle they can use....which he did not. If the marked car was there, there was no need for armed assailant to leave his vehicle to begin with. Marked car could have easily flipped on his lights and pulled the guy over.

I suspect plain clothes got a little road rage from motorcycle dude, and decided to vent it off in a spectacular "bust". After he calmed down, he realized he might be in real trouble if motorcycle dude or marked car officer decides he acted in an extreme and unsafe manner. I think the video proves this.

Lot of scummy police out there, they can film you with their dash cam (WITH AUDIO!)...I don't see why you can't film them in return.

And as for dude rolling his motorcycle back away from car who just cut into his path? I would have reversed my vehicle if it looked like some dude was trying to box me in or cause problems as well. It's a natural reaction to try to avoid collisions, and dude cutting across your path isn't showing the best judgment (Read: Whack job)...and then he gets out of the vehicle with a gun (Read: Armed Whack Job). He should be scared because I don't think I would have given armed whack job a chance to identify himself when he's already got the gun in his hand. Because that dude looks like he's got a bad case of road rage doing what he did there.

If only I had a gun

HollywoodBob says...

Most burglars focus on empty houses, having a gun in your home is no deterrent, it just puts the gun into their hands. You have a better chance of shooting a loved one than ever using it to defend yourself against an intruder.

As for the situation in the video. You have a prepared assailant against an unsuspecting "hero". The training level of the "bad guy" makes no difference in this situation, they've the upper hand as soon as they walk in. You'll notice the "bystanders" flee, usually covering their head, or try diving on the floor to use the tables for cover. The "heroes" all went for their weapon, an action that draws the attention of a shooter, seeing that everyone is wearing a hood and are basically anonymous. They shouldn't have tried to immediately take out the shooter, but rather take cover, get out of his line of fire and try to find an angle that doesn't expose them to the shooter.

I'd love to see this same scenario play out with a few dozen conceal-carry permit holding, "I needs mah guns fer protekshun" hero wannabees and see how well they'd perform under stress. I'd be amazed if they would fair any better.

Terrible Games From A Terrible Games Company

spoco2 says...

Why is the father in Peter Pan talking to himself:
Father:"Do you know what's happened to my tie"
Father:"No I don't, perhaps it's in a draw"

And definitely on the Disney, well, and pretty much any other successful kids movie. We have land before time, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Lion King.

Man, how do they sleep at night knowing that unsuspecting parents have bought their kids these games and those kids have been forever traumatized.

Horrible.

I had a similar gaming experience just recently. Myself and my kids were given a Wii for Christmas (huzzah), and so I was out looking for a budget game to add to Wii Sports. Well, I couldn't find anything that I'd seen a good review of, so I stupidly purchased something that was budget priced and looked like it would give the kids some fun little games to play like they do with Wii Sports (they're 4 and 5 yrs old)... well... I was stupid.

I bought this game and got it home... and then was STUNNED at the abysmal quality of it.

Something I thought would be really easy for them is the old slam the hammer on the thing to ring the bell game... NOPE. First you had to do a pumping motion really hard with the nunchuck, then you had to press a button the wiimote, then you had to spin the wiimote around and around to erm... charge up something, then you had to press another button and do a downward motion with the nunchuck.

HOW HARD would it have been to just have it be a swing down motion with the bloody wiimote?

And pretty much every game was either overly complex or just INSANELY difficult.

Then the story mode was of the same ilk as the ones in this video... stationary pictures with a few cutouts moving across the screen with no animation, and piss poor voice work.

So, because of that I will NEVER buy a game made by 'Play Zone'.

I was just glad it was the first game I'd ever bought from an EB games, because they take returns just because you thought the game was crap.

Thank god for that!

If you ARE after a good game for preschoolers, can I recommend Diego Safari Rescue. Awesome game that my kids love AND can control really easily, and yet has a large range of different wiimote actions that fit in with the things they're doing onscreen... really well made game.

U.S. Economy : The Philosopher's Stone

"In some excerpts, the reader may be led to believe the words are indeed from Paul, a resident of Lake Jackson, Texas. In the "Ron Paul Political Report" from October 1992, the writer describes carjacking as the "hip-hop thing to do among the urban youth who play unsuspecting whites like pianos."

The author then offers advice from others on how to avoid being carjacked, including "an ex-cop I know," and says, "I frankly don't know what to make of such advice, but even in my little town of Lake Jackson, Texas, I've urged everyone in my family to know how to use a gun in self defense. For the animals are coming."
