You’re, not you, not your, not yor. This is grade school stuff even Jethro knew. This is MERICA, learn the language or GET OUT! 😂

Only to you, sir, and you deserve every bit of smug arrogance, every instance of derision and ridicule. It’s impossible to not seem elitist when presented with your ignorant, uneducated, aggressive, faux superior douchebaggieness and hatefulness. I am not special. I’m not a beautiful and unique snowflake. I’m the same decaying organic matter as everything else, but I’m not a steaming pile of toxic shit like yourself.

I walk around with a smile on my face and puppy kisses on top of that smile. All my bile is reserved for you and criminal cops. You admitted once that you go to bed irate and seething more often than not, I don’t.

Only you get the answer for everything, because you, with no answers or facts, are the biggest natural constant victim I’ve ever known besides Trump. I’m happy to research and learn how idiotically ignorant every position you take is, it prepares me for other Trumpists I know who aren’t learning deficient, just duped. You are a lost cause.

I’m no victim. Nearly every right wing attack I defend against is NOT against myself, I’m an educated upper middle class straight white male property owner with no debt, I’m exactly who your party thinks it wants in charge. D’oh!

Acab? Again, I don’t speak conspiracy nutjob, can you try English?

BLM is good, they triggered a long overdue police reform that’s finally slowly bringing consequences back to murderous criminal police actions. It’s disgusting they had to exist and go to such extremes to get police reform, but clearly it wouldn’t have happened without them. Even if you dishonestly blame all the damage done by Trump’s boogaloo boys and proud boys to BLM, <$200 million is cheap for real police reform, and less than 1/2 the cost of Jan 6 and the extra security required immediately afterwards.
Trump is bad, he destroyed the economy to a negative gdp, exploded unemployment, eroded our international standing, divided the country more than any issue, destroyed our national credit, damaged our election system badly and tried to subvert it, tried a violent coup and failed, stole classified nuclear secrets and showed them to anyone and left them in public ballrooms, hallways, and bathrooms, was convicted of sex abuse, and his idiotic racist policies led to well over a million unnecessary American deaths and 3 times that in severely disabled survivors while countries with intelligent leadership avoided nearly all covid (NZ, Australia, etc).

Grooming is good, it makes one presentable, less stinky, and prevents disease. You should try it, you must smell disgusting and look as disheveled as you speak.

I am against pedophiles training children for sex, but that’s your party over and over and over and over and over. You have one accused leftist mayor to point to, I have >10000 priests, >100 politicians, Epstein, Trump, and your alma mater Penn State to point at as disgusting criminal sex abusers who’ve been caught, prosecuted, and convicted on the right.

Lol…sick man! 😂 from you, a compliment.

It’s guaranteed you sucked that tit more than myself, friendo. I’ve never taken a handout, or loan from the government, I’ve been a property owner for near 3 decades without ever having debt, not even credit card or home loan debt. I paid for school in cash, and my house. I give away more than most, and take nothing…and I consistently overpay my taxes.

I bet you even tried to get an unsecured Trump ppp loan you didn’t have to repay like so many socialist righties…like MTG, Boebert, and every other red politician did to the tune of millions, I know you’re just loving that socialist handout and all the corporate socialism Trump practiced, and are thanking Trump for not allowing any vetting or loan securities by design. Every accusation is an admission, and the socialist accusation is one of the biggest instances. If government “handouts” were cut off tomorrow, red states would be bankrupt by Sunday, conservative businesses would fail, and conservatives would default on their massive debts at rates never imagined. I know, in your total ignorance, you disagree and see no need to look into that claim, you just KNOW it can’t be true… Gutfeld told you liberals are the takers. 🤦‍♂️

You’re a sick, stupid man from a disgustingly sick sexually abusive school made sicker and stupider by the absolute insanity and dishonesty of Trumpism, whining and sniveling about how unfair it is without Trump as dictator.

How you like your Penn State teacher Themis Matsoukas getting busted for having sex with his dog in public and recording it, not his first public sex crime? You took his class, didn’t you…Sandusky too I bet, they’re your kind of people. Did you take wrestling with Gym Jordan?

PS- how are those “whistleblower” committees going? Too bad every whistleblower turned out to be fake, the evidence nonexistent, those audio tapes a fantasy, the bank records ethereal, and the accusation so incredibly stupid and backwards it makes you a disgraceful laughing stock once again. Sucker. 😂

D’oh! Twump lost another case, this time his attempt to remove his cases from New York State court to a federal court under a Trump judge, but his inept lawyers provided no evidence and only one witness that had no material information about the case and lost the appeal/motion. Can you remember the last time Trump’s team was successful in court? I can’t..certainly not after he was tossed out of office (except the one activist judge that was reversed and reprimanded).

Bonus- the merger deal for Toth Senchal may be dead because members of the board of the SPAC are indicted/arrested for insider trading using confidential information surrounding the merger itself. Another Trump company circling the drain because of corruption at the top.

Told you years ago….secret Trump love child revealed.
MIGHT not be true but he paid and fought to kill the story so it likely is.

Just wait, it’s going to come out that Barron really is Ivanka’s child….and her brother….and Melania is due tens of millions for keeping silent (but won’t ever see it).

Guaranteed there are more stories the National Inquirer caught and killed for Trump, many including secret payoffs…and if he pulled the same frauds he did with Daniels, he’s so hosed. The 34 felonies he’s charged with carry a 1 year MINIMUM. That’s 34 years if found guilty….MINIMUM. Oof.

For your bonus, Republicans now advocate weaponizing congress by ACTUALLY defunding the police, meaning cutting budgets so much the police cannot afford to continue their current investigations, in a blatant effort to protect Trump from the law. One more example of every accusation is an admission…

Democratic “defund the police” meant remove parts of the job like mental health care worker and fund existing departments dedicated to those kinds of issues that are better dealt with by professionals without overzealous law enforcement to avoid more near daily unnecessary murders by police and the accompanying multi million dollar lawsuits and freeing police to do the job of policing.

Republican “defund the police” means actually drastically cutting funding from the DOJ, FBI, and any other agency that cooperated in prosecuting Trump, and not caring one whit about the thousands of criminals that will go free, and thousands of preventable crimes that will be committed, with the only benefit being “protect Tangeriney Mousolini”. So much for the lie “party of law and order”, not that anyone outside the cult ever believed it.

PS- Way to go Wisconsin. Rejected the MAGA nutjob. The turnout by the under 30 crowd should have you shitting your pants over ‘24. If they turn out nation wide in anywhere near the same numbers (and they’re PISSED about religious zealots stripping their rights and instating pseudo-Christian Sharia law) its not going to be a blue wave or blue tsunami, it’s going to be blue waterworld.

Oops this turned into a semi rant. But I am legitimately open to discussion here, and am curious to get your thoughts on a few points Bob. That is, IF you're willing to actually think about them beyond the level of repeating talking points.

I find it interesting how divergent the two overall "sides" are in this country, in terms of where they focus. None of the issues brought up in this video are really on the radar of most progressives, beyond being aware some on the right are talking about them. And I'm guessing a lot of the concerns progressives discuss rarely come up in your chosen media landscape. A lot of the issues in the video are largely off of my radar, and I have to wonder how you feel they should be addressed - like, actual proposed solutions rather than just complaining about / worrying about them.

We only dedicate one day to remember our fallen soldiers

How many should there be? Arguably we have more than one already: there's Memorial Day and Veterans Day, and it seems that Sept 11th is often used for the purpose as well.

I'd argue we should spend more time acknowledging and understanding the principals behind WHY our soldiers died in the various conflicts which caused them to fall in the first place. Let's make sure our citizenry appreciates what we collectively rejected in the Revolutionary war. Why it was important that we kept the country together rather than allowing the south to split off in the mid-1800s. Why we chose to honor our diplomatic agreements and support our allies in WW1. Why we fought against the countries and governments we did in WW2. What our goals were in Korea and Vietnam, and what lessons we learned from those conflicts and from the Cold War in general. Commemorating and remembering those we've lost absolutely matters, but if we're ONLY doing that while forgetting why they fought OR ignoring what we learned then we're doing them an equal or greater disservice. Remember that America was built on the idea of forming "a more perfect union" - not a perfect one, a MORE perfect one - a work in progress. We're striving towards an ideal, not assuming we're already there. Learning from our past successes, failures, and our struggles around both outcomes is vital. If our self-analysis is no deeper than hero worship we'll never make real progress towards that theoretical perfect union.

The only mask that's gonna save us is duct tape on their mouths

Yeah, sound medical advice and evidence-based science is terrifying. Better to shut up those whose words we dislike, because we're reactionary authoritarian babymen. I truly do not understand being more afraid of reasonable safety measures than of a virus which has been shown to cause serious harm in the short and long terms. The only reason this "masks = liberal / maskless = conservative" crap came about is because politics has devolved to the level of team sports in the US, and one party has chosen "the opposite of whatever our political opponents say" as their entire governing philosophy. (And yes, ONE party - research and understand the GOP's 2020 platform if you want to argue the point.) This video even seems to reach a reasonable conclusion at the end, while coming up just short of that final logical leap to "maybe I should question what the public faces of MY side have been claiming in this Us vs Them madness." Seriously - keep going friend, you're almost there! George Washington was 100% right in wanting to avoid political parties being a force in the US, and it makes me immensely sad that his fears came true.

Big oil runs the world / the only wars to get fought are with the countries who have natural resources they want

Solid point here, no sarcasm. The US military has long been a tool of our profit-driven form of "free market" imperialism. A really great way to combat this, specifically with an eye to ending Big Oil's goddamn death grip on our foreign policy goals, would be an aggressive implementation of renewable energy projects. Remember the space race? America can be an absolute beast at clever engineering solutions when we dedicate ourselves to it. Fuck the petrostates, we have the available land and resources to absolutely kick ass in the realms of solar and wind power, and be leaders in the the post-hydrocarbon reality. We can certainly agree on that, right Bob? Left / Right nonsense fully aside, I think any reasonable American can agree on at least two points: let's stop sending heaps of cash to buy oil off of the Saudis (etc), and Fuck Cancer.

But if a white man acts too white he's white trash / he's a racist he's a bigot he's a monster

What the fuck is this horseshit? What does "acting too white" even fucking look like? Watching NASCAR on a sailboat while listening to polka? Typically when I see racism from white people it's in the form of denying that brown-hued people deal with any additional difficulties in life due to their skin tone, or denying that there have been structural obstacles for them through history, or lamenting that their white children are being burdened with a broader lens on culture or with (gasp! shock!) an accurate accounting of actual US history, including the ugly bits that we shouldn't be proud of (but MUST learn from). I'm progressive / lefty as fuck and there is no aspect of "white culture" or "acting white" which upsets me in the slightest. UNLESS one counts "denying racism exists / has ever existed" as a fundamental value of being white. Which... why would anyone want to claim that nonsense? If you want to listen to classic country music in a rusty pickup truck while driving to an evangelical church, then discuss hockey over Buds after 18 holes with the rest of your tractor pull team, then absolutely go nuts my fellow caucusoid! Just recognize and understand that your life experiences may not be the same as those of others. Further, if we care about trying to avoid unnecessary, avoidable unfairness in life (recognizing that life will never truly be fair, for anyone), then it might be reasonable for some governmental / legal / structural recognition in furtherance of that notion. There is absolutely room for legitimate policy disagreement here without being accused of racism. It's denial of others' reality which tends to garner the label of racist (sexist etc) - steer clear of denying the lived experiences of other people, allow for the possibility they may have encountered difficulties you haven't / won't, and we've room for further discussion.

Edit / final point: I voted the video back up to 0 from the -1 where I found it. Because while I disagree with a lot of the positions taken by the performer, they may have reached them through no fault of their own and with no true malice. Misinformation / disinformation is a devious shit of a motherfucker, and the rot it causes can run deep. It is painful to abandon deeply-held beliefs, on a fundamental level. If nothing else, the video gives us room to discuss some specific viewpoints held by people who think of themselves as good, but which can lead to harm.

What if Akira Was Animated At 60 Frames Per Second

Sketch says...

I agree that it doesn't look all that different to me. It doesn't totally destroy anything the way high frame rate destroys live action though. I could see the technique being put to more judicious and deliberate use by studios, but also see that it's largely unnecessary. Keep high frame rates for gaming, and maybe sports (so I hear, I don't really watch sports).

Republican Socialists

newtboy says...

Trump took the healthy economy off a cliff to the worst economy, employment, and gdp in history. It took him <4 years….and was responsible for over 1 million unnecessary deaths of Americans because of his lack of response to Covid. Downward spiral?! Trump put us in rocket assisted free fall. Biden accelerated the crawling failing economy into an upward spiral.
Obama and Biden spent a lot, but in 4 years Trump spent far more than their 10 years combined while lowering the amount the government brings in on multiple fronts (so increased the debt and deficit in two ways, spending more while making less), and Obama inherited a recession and left a boom, Trump inherited a boom and left a recession….Biden inherited economic collapse, active terroristic sedition, horrific unemployment, and pandemic…all 4 issues are better today than they were on Jan 20, 21.

The inflation reduction act, Bobby. That’s what’s being done.
Also student debt forgiveness.
Edit-Also raising interest rates, finally. Can’t blame Biden for the federal reserve’s hesitation, however….he doesn’t control them and can only make suggestions.
That’s the answer.
Almost every Republican opposed it (them) and voted against it (them), nearly every Republican then went home and took credit for it (them) and said it (they) was a great thing for their constituents (but pretended they hadn’t been against it (them) with every fiber of their being because it’s (they’re) really popular)….just like they did with the infrastructure bill.

Higher interest rates ARE helping, just not enough yet. It definitely should have started earlier than March…. .25% interest rates were just insanely low. Inflation has lowered, but as you well know, Trump’s administration just printed over 1/5 of every dollar in 2020….just made 20% more dollars while gdp went to -32.9% and unemployment skyrocketed to unheard of levels. This causes 20% inflation or more all by itself…Joe’s administration kept that below 10% miraculously.

If bankruptcy boy was still running the economy, we would have 20% inflation, more oil infrastructure sold to the Saudis (they bought the biggest refinery in America in secret under Trump and cut production), higher gas and oil prices, no infrastructure funding, no inflation plan, Ukraine would no longer exist, NATO would still be impotent, ….bankrupting a country is much worse than bankrupting 6 businesses. Trump did both.

Thanks Biden….

P.S.- Nice deflection from the undeniable hypocrisy the video is about. Way to completely ignore the right now taking credit for the popular and helpful Biden legislation they all opposed….praising it, explaining what a great thing it is for their states, economy, and constituents while pretending they didn’t ALL vote against it out of pure spite which outweighs any wish for America to succeed. Their sudden love for the law they diametrically and insultingly opposed is absolute proof they oppose beneficial legislation simply to avoid letting Biden succeed.

Edit: Will you ever get tired of begging for attention for being 100% wrong 99.6% of the time?

NASA's outdated SLS. Why does it exist?

eric3579 says...

"NASA's new rocket has been in development for over a decade, arguably it's a soft continuation from the Constellation program using the 5 segment boosters and Orion capsule that began development in 2005. It's been a slow, expensive ride with the contractors milking their cost plus contracts for their own benefit."
-Scott Manley

Makes it seem like NASA SLS is just providing jobs and not actually producing anything of value for each dollar spent. More telescopes, less rockets?

Nasa don't give them reasons to cut your budget or make politicians/public think you're less or unnecessary.

*promote the upcoming launch.

And what is the Republicans new plan?

Federally, block the fed from functioning.

In Texas, it’s start a trade war with Mexico by doing a “safety inspection” on every truck crossing the border, causing day long lines and making it impossible to ship perishable produce. Texas stores expect empty shelves by tomorrow.
This is forced, unnecessary inflation for a political stunt that he (Abbot) says hurts Mexico, but those spoiled goods belong to Texans, the higher shipping costs are paid by Texans, higher produce prices will be paid by Texans. The overtime is paid to Mexican drivers. Not sure how this hurts Mexico, or why that’s desirable in the first place.

STUDY: $500 Per Month Life Changing For The Homeless

newtboy says...

Ok. I admit that’s unnecessary and confusing.

A bit more than a rewording, a complete overhaul from the current American system. Never expect us to be reasonable or simple in our plans like our northern cousins can be.

I agree, without a means test, income limits for participation, assistance programs can’t be funded enough to actually help the needy and hand out the same amount to the well off. Those plans are nuts IMO.

I understand your issue with UBI. I support it in the sense of a safety net, no one should be forced to live on less than $X and IMO there should be no requirement besides no/low income….but to function that requires those who already make over $X to get nothing and just be happy they won’t be mugged for food money. I don’t support the “here’s a free $500 for everybody”, inflation would make it meaningless in a year, more circulating dollars with no more in the treasury/total value = inflation on top of your valid points.

bcglorf said:

Yeah, the crutch of it for me is the UBI moniker.

What you describe at the end of your post, minimum income, is really just a rewording of the existing social security and welfare systems across the western world. I know they look different in each, but here in Canada what you describe is more or less our already existing system's design goal. Welfare money exists for those that straight up can not work, and an employment insurance system exists to protect those inbetween jobs, meanwhile other multiple programs are aimed at distributing financial assistance to the lower income groups.

Despite all of that already existing, UBI is still being heralded up here in trials as well as a replacement. The problem being that for the needy the UBI pitches are generally a step backwards.

Eg. $500/month is the UBI pitch, and they say it'll be great because everyone gets it no matter what so it's simple and fair and nobody is left behind. The trouble though is that the reality is the truly in need people were already benefitting more than the $500/month under the existing systems, and the cost was much less because it was targeted.

I here UBI and get very worried about folks just selling snake oil 'solutions' that in the end are just a demand to adopt their own particular flavor of wealth redistribution.

sound like we agree the dog was scared but to what degree. for me its zero tolerance. i see the dog standing still, staring directly at him, knowing the man is aggravated and owner is startled too. you can see the dog go into sunken stature with ears back still staring. dog clearly knows something is wrong.

also agree she's (the bigger) asshole for doing this, but as a life-long dog owner you see this conflict play out countless times and usually using a normal voice to talk to the person is enough and you gain a new dog friend.

she seems to be a good doggo owner (takes dog for walks, dog has a jacket and seems happy otherwise) and hopefully this incident will help her close the gap on being an awesome pet owner.

Religion, in a nutshell

It's fanatism that leads to these crazy conflicts & posturing. wonder what the 'industry' thinks in this regard. also leery about how the 'Nannie state' believers would consider this: Nannie over nuthin' or nothing Nannie about unnecessary risks?

it is disturbing. just the tangle of extension cord thing shows how institutionalized this fear, or known risk, has been installed into the public. would reasonably assume this is traceable to having been taught in schools. echoed also in many ads, manuals, etc. although have difficulty understanding why putting inexpensive safeguards would be a bad thing?

GOP Try to Rewrite the History of the Jan 6th Insurrection

moonsammy says...

That cop's alternative being what, letting the rampaging mob have their way with the legislators he was duty-bound to protect? It's not like the officer was just wandering around and randomly shot her - she was at the front of a violent mob that had just broken through a barrier. By shooting her, he kept the mob at bay for a bit longer, which may very well have saved lives. When people on this site decry police violence, it tends to be in a context where that violence was unnecessary and excessive for the situation. The fact that more of the insurrectionists weren't shot actually illustrates incredible restraint and professionalism, on the part of the Capitol police.

I'd like to add: fucking stop with the "unarmed" bullshit. They were a RAMPAGING MOB. They were chanting their wish to kill the Vice President, who they believed to be in the building. Do you really believe a group of people with only bludgeoning weapons are incapable of causing massive amounts of harm? They had violently broken into one of the core seats of power in the US, in a direct effort to stop the democratic process and what has in *every other instance* been a peaceful transition of power.

Seriously - if you support the 1/6/2021 insurrection, you support an attempted fascistic overthrow of the US government. It isn't up for debate, that's what happened on that day. It wasn't a fucking protest, they weren't a goddamned tourist group. They smashed their way into the Capitol, at the behest of a man seemingly incapable of admitting defeat (gracefully or otherwise), with the goal of keeping him in power against the will of the voters of this country. That shit is not at all acceptable, and I hope the lot of them serve sufficient time in prison to act as a warning to all other fascists.

Fact check.....
3,500,000 child cases * .008 mortality = 28000 dead children you fucking inhuman monster.
3,500,000 * 10% who have long term disabilities = 350,000 children disabled for life.
Pay up, your ilk being obstinately unsafe caused their disabilities, you should pay to support them for life just as if you were driving blindfolded because Trump said car bumpers make them safe in accidents and you ran over a few, leaving them to die in the streets because getting hurt by a car is fake news.

Well over 570000 dead Americans you Anti American enemy of the people.
32000000 cases * 10% long term side effects like severe permanent heart, lung, brain damage = 3,200,000 disabled people created.

I think it's fair to say most readers here hope you're next. No one is more deserving of infection, no one is more deserving of severe permanent disabilities, no one is less deserving of a vaccine or hospitalization. I hope your children bring it home day 1 when school restarts.

Ask Brazil how following your plan has worked....better yet, put your money where your mouth is and move there, unvaccinated, and let us know.

Fake news made too many ignorant morons fight against public health measures, costing us over 1/2 million deaths and well over $5 Trillion in unnecessary expenses that could ALL have been avoided with adult, serious leadership we sorely lacked for a full year plus until January.

Bob, you ARE fake news. Dangerous, deadly, and costly fake news.

BTW, it costs about an extra $2.2 million to raise a child with disabilities, and an EXTRA $3,175 to $5,853 per month for adults - keep in mind they mostly have no income and don't add to the gdp, so add the average $61,224 cost of living in the US and you have over $120000 per year per person (3200000 disabled so far) you get a recurring yearly cost of your "ignore the danger and get to work/school" plan cost of up to $3.84 e11 ($384,000,000,000) per year so far....an impossible cost to bear. Granted, not every person with permanent damage is totally disabled, so being generous assume only 10% are....still $38,400,000,000 PER YEAR at current average cost not including children. That doesn't include direct cost of hospitalization for covid, from $51,000 to $78,000, nor the loss in gdp from 3.2 million earners gone.
Fuck your $5 Trillion....most of which went to businesses.
