So yes, my argument does have merit. They also came in an announced that they were gay and told him what the cake was for:

"My first comment was, 'We're getting married"

I'm sure the reason for this was that they already knew they were going to get turned down:

"This is not the first time Phillips has refused to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple. He insists, however, that his stance is not anti-gay."

The gay community in that town already knew about it, and sent someone in to get refused so they could create a story for the media with the hype and drama that has surrounded it, and generate sympathy for their cause.

They have to refuel in the garage before the start of the race, and then carry enough fuel for the whole race.

Since the weight of the fuel carries a time penalty, nobody actually carries enough fuel to finish the race flat out, they always have to spend at least some time saving fuel (lifting off the throttle early on corners, turning down the engine etc.).

When the Virgin team first joined, they discovered that they hadn't designed their car with a big enough fuel tank, so just getting to the end with the engine turned down was a major challenge for them until they introduced a redesigned car.

Sorry but there aren't any white people left in Texas not anymore. White is now the minority in Texas yet Hispanics and African Americans still get all the minority benefits here. This is a little off topic but it's also the sad and honest truth. I can't even get food stamps here in Texas because I'm white, it doesn't matter that I was hurt and can't work for the next 6 months, I'm the wrong skin color to receive any help from the Texas government. Yet I know plenty of Hispanic friends of mine that have never been turned down once for help even though they all own homes and drives low riders with gold rims. They still qualify for $1000 a month in food stamps. Even when I brought them proof of my injury and my old tax returns showing I've been working steady till the accident and that I don't have any bank accounts, I don't own a home, or even a car. They only offered to give me $10 a month in food stamps. I was floored I told them they could keep their lousy $10. You can barely buy one meal with that. Fucking ridiculous. Texas couldn't give a flyin fuck about White people. Unless your a rich politician.

Nice sentiment but unfortunately only a few percent of the world are in a financial position to turn down any paid work from anyone. Few whores choose to be on their knees for a living.

I don't get how CK turning down a middle man to publish and promote his product could result in him keeping less money. Was he simply not able to generate enough demand?

It seems like he would make more money and a higher margin per download or ticket this way.

He turned down a shit load of money to make his own show. He has said that the only way he could keep creative control was to turn down the big bucks. He took a much, much lower offer so that he could write, direct, produce, cast, act in, and edit his own show.

If you paid $80 dollars to see him he probably made 50 cents off of it.
That's the industry's fault.
