Joe Biden's Crime Bill In his own words.

newtboy says...

The way it's presented here, yes, his own words are edited and selected with other words/statements omitted to create right wing propaganda. Where are the parts where he admits he was wrong and apologized over and over?

How about Trump's own words, and Trump's own position then. He said the Clinton/Biden crime bill was way too soft and lenient. Here's a taste from Trump's book....

"The perpetrator is never a victim. He’s nothing more than a predator. (pages 93-94).

A life is a life, and if you criminally take an innocent life, you’d better be prepared to forfeit your own. My only complaint is that lethal injection is too comfortable a way to go. (pages 102-103).

Criminals are often returned to society because of forgiving judges. This has to stop. We need to hold judges more accountable… The rest of us need to rethink prisons and punishment. The next time you hear someone saying there are too many people in prison, ask them how many thugs they’re willing to relocate to their neighborhood. The answer: None. (pages 106-107)."

If that doesn’t sound like support for mass incarceration and the death penalty with little chance for criminal justice reform in sentencing, I’m not sure what does.

https://observer.com/2019/06/trump-crime-2000-book-biden-1994-crime-bill/

How about the Central Park 5? Trump paid for adds calling for the death penalty for these wrongly accused boys. Despite DNA evidence and a confession by the real rapist and restitution from the state in the $40000000 range Trump STILL insists they're guilty of something (he doesn't know what they did, but they're definitely guilty) and deserve the death penalty.....clearly forgetting he's bragged about doing what they were wrongly accused of....sexual assault.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/06/19/what-trump-has-said-central-park-five/1501321001/

Biden has admitted his position was wrong, and repeatedly apologized. Trump has NEVER done that, even about calling for the death penalty for the proven innocent.

*facepalm. You still don't understand that some people have a longer memory than a gnat, and we can recall that no matter the topic, Trump's position was worse than Democrats at the time, and his current position is worse than their current position.

So Joe words are right wring propaganda? Well isn't that a MF switch. Joe gone full right wing. So Trump can dump Pence and pick up Finger banging Joe as VP?

Joe Biden's Crime Bill In his own words.

Bwaaahahaha.
Oh Bobby. Did bad man make Bobby cwy hurt?
Edit: It's OK Bob, I know you care more than you can ever admit. I even care about you, even though I'm >90% sure you are a troll farm with multiple users posting as one with ulterior motives...maybe because that's who you are.
I care, because truth is important and you are a vocal enemy of truth.

You really want to talk about "his own words" when you side with unapologetically self admitted daughter lusting, serial philanderer, pornstar raw dogging, woman debasing and dehumanizing, forceful and proud repeated finger raping, friend's wives fucking, prostitute fucking, naked little girl leering, charity defrauding, student defrauding, biggest loser Trump (all admitted to by his own words) vs shoulder rubbing grandpa Biden? Oh yeah, let's do it.

For every word flub Biden makes, and there are many, Trump flubs 50 words. For every misstatement of fact by Biden, and he does misstate some facts, Trump outright lies to the public 100 times (then says he's under no obligation to tell the truth if he's not under oath), for every unwanted touch accusation against Biden, Trump has >25 sexual assault accusations. For every mea culpa from Biden over behavior that is only inappropriate by today's standards but not contemporarily we get 100 excuses and victim blaming with constantly changing excuses from Trump. You REALLY don't want this to be a contest of character....Trump's character loses that contest every single time and thrice on Sundays.

Trump called this crime bill too soft and lenient.

Lol. I'm the troll! Ahahahahaha! I'm not the one running a sock puppet theater. LMFAHS.
Your desperation is showing again.

NYC's Best Burger, Explained

TheFreak says...

I'll throw my vote in for American Cheese on burgers.

I make cheese at home and every once in a while one comes out with too soft and sticky a texture. The flavor usually isn't what I want either because the moisture content is too high during aging.

I started making pub-cheese with these failures and enjoyed the results. Then I threw some on a breakfast egg and sausage sandwich and it was better than cheddar but the consistency wasn't quite right once it got hot. So I experimented with other ingredients until I had something that melts well and is flavorful enough to stand up to breakfast sausage or bacon or jalapenos on a burger...whatever. It finally occurred to me the first time I made a grilled cheese sandwich with it that I've been making American cheese.

I love cheese, that's why I have a notebook full of my cheese making notes and a full-size stand-up freezer converted to a cheese cave. But damned if my homemade American cheese isn't the best thing to put on a burger.

Who do you blame for the election results? (User Poll by newtboy)

enoch says...

blame?

i don't know if i would use such a charged word to describe a very and nuanced question.i think there is plenty of blame to go around, and it is never quite as simple as the media soundbytes we are all subjected to on a daily basis.

who do i blame most?
democrats..hands down.

but there are other factors that all served to produce this circus of an election cycle.

1.the failure of the left to actually understand just how frustrated and angry the working class had become.those people may be politically unsophisticated, but they are not dumb.

this really had very little to do with republican vs democrat.this was a large portion of the american population that had simply become fed up with a system that they finally understood had thrown them overboard decades ago.many of the people who voted for trump also voted for obama..TWICE..because they wanted to see "change" and what they got nothing, zip, zilch, zero, nada.

they simply refused to play charlie brown to the democrats lucy.

2.the DNC and debbie wasserman shultz, may she burn in hell for eternity.
this woman singlehandedly secured the nomination for clinton, while blocking a sanders nomination.

remember laurence lessig?
well, don't feel bad if you don't,because wasserman and the DNC kept changing the rules of application so lessig couldn't even get on the primary ballot.

the DNC basically said to the sanders supporters "sanders? fuck you! you get hillary and will like it".

3.the ultra left liberals, for being so sensitive and touchy (don't get mad,you guys are way too soft skinned) that they restrict their interactions in these weird, singular echo chambers.where everybody is agreeing with each other and nobody is challenging anything,no critical examination.

so when trump won.
they damn near lost their minds in shock!
because anybody who may have shed some actual light on the situation was already blocked or on ignore.

4.the republican party, who hated trump but allowed him to fan the flames of dissent with his bombastic speeches, emotionally charged rhetoric and divisive language.

they let this go on for almost a year, and while publicly denounced trump, privately sought a way to capture his thunder.

want carson?.....nope
cruz?...nope.
kasich?..nope.

because just like the left, they too,had misjudged just how pissed off people were in regards to our political system, and their plan backfired.

5.the democratic party for allowing such a shit candidate, and just like the republicans, not fully understanding just how pissed the electorate was.

6.the corporate media, who sought solely to profit from the election by giving us all this mish mash of reality tv,wrestling and days of our lives.they didnt report the issues, they fed the drama.

and every political pundit, every pollster, every opinion news mrs mcprettyface, got it FUCKING WRONG.

7.bernie bros who stayed home in protest, but this entire election was a protest vote.

so,
yeah..a lot of mitigating factors went into trumps win.

i didn't think he was going to win but i knew it was going to close, but i sure as fuck was not surprised.i was actually laughing at loud.

would you look at that...
my fellow countrymen just hit the nuclear option.
i didn't want a trump victory..no sir..but i have to admire the audacity of my fellow citizens to hit that shiny red button.

fuck you washington!

we live in interesting times my friends.
interesting and terrifying times.

and really...what would clinton have given us?
more of the same?
more wars and regime change?
more tax breaks for the super rich while children starve and more people become homeless?

i may find my fellow americans choice horrifying, but i have to respect it.
either way kids...something is gonna change.

Survivor Bias

ChaosEngine says...

Great video. I really wish people understood this concept better.

Any of this sound familiar?
"Kids these days are too soft. When we were kids, we rode bikes without helmets, sat in the front seat of cars, <insert outer dangerous activity> and WE WERE FINE"

Of course, you were fine; the fact that you're here to tell that anecdote is proof of that. The kids who died in auto accidents generally don't get to tell their stories.

In terms of what this means for our day to day lives? You can't just look at the winners and copy what they did. You have to look at the losers and avoid what they did.

Food Channel Contest Time (Food Talk Post)

pumkinandstorm says...

Someone at work brought these chocolate chip cookies in today. I asked her to email me the recipe since they were really good. So here you go...

Chocolate Chip Cookies
(makes 6 dozen cookies)

4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt, then set aside.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat in the instant pudding mix powder until blended. Stir in the eggs and vanilla. Blend in the flour mixture. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets covered in parchment paper. Refrigerate dough between batches so the dough doesn't become too soft before baking.

3. Bake for approximately 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Could be more or less depending on your oven. Edges should be golden brown.

Fix Your Posture with This Animated Guide to Sitting Right

CreamK says...

Our school got these nice "ergonomic" chairs.. Man they are awful, there's no lock, there's a spring and in order to stay in good posture, you have to simultaneously keep your self up, lean on your elbows and push back.. When you lean forward the back support follows you and pushes slowly you to the edge of your seat and when you lean back it's like you got nothing there and the whole thing feels like it's gonne capsize. It's simultaneously too stiff and too soft. It takes about 2 hours and i get back cramps.. And they claim they are super healthy as you can't relax.. If i ever meet the guy who designed those, i'm gonna kick him in the nuts. I'll take my gaming chair anyday..

Moonlight Sonata - Beethoven - Daniel Barenboim

ZappaDanMan says...

As sad as this piece of music is; I played this beautiful and subtle piece of music at a recital hall, that was interrupted by a parent; to be told it was too soft.

It was awesome when she was told to leave the hall in front of her son, who had recently learned chopsticks (okay, a slight exaggeration).

Egyptian Actors Turn Violent on Candid TV show

Rambaldi says...

I'm Israeli, so feel free to consider me biased on the matter.

Egyptians have been treated like shit for decades because they lived under the rule of a corrupt regime. Granted, the US had given aid to that regime, and its stability was in the interest of Israel - any other policy would've meant war.

The Egyptian regime had encouraged a media and literature ban on normalization with Israel, in order to turn Israel into a scapegoat for the people's frustrations and in order to stop people from being able to compare their situation to that of Israeli citizens. And as the regime controlled parts of the media, "encouraged" is perhaps too soft a term.

So this is not an instance where years of being "treated like shit" by Israel caused an understandable outburst of hatred. This is a consistent example of hatred being indoctrinated for years (some past examples: here, here and here).

Raciest in the extreme.

There are legitimate reasons to hate Israel, and illegitimate reasons. Me? I hate people who can spell.

can or can't? ;3
I aint no fan of Israel, but throwing punches because you think they lied about being Jews? Aint no rhyme nor reason. The fact they can prank people like this because they reaction is so expected is worrying tbh. Where else in the world could this happen. No wonder the Jews were anxious when Mubarak went...
ps. That woman is beautiful.

They should be anxious because if the Egyptian military who get TONS of US funding are pushed out of power too much then it's a serious issue. The only reason Israel get to be dicks to everyone is because of the US. The US loses Egypt, their control looks more tenuous and then next they might have to actually start listening to other people rather than doing whatever the hell they want.
These people are racist fucks...but it doesn't come from nothing. They hate the fact they were tricked, less understandable. They've been being treated like shit for decades cause of the US and Israel...more understandable. You piss people off you set a bad example...like even good World War 2 soldiers who will hate Japanese people forever because of what they saw. We're humans, we're Fucked Up.

Scottish Fold munchkin kitten is adorable

robbersdog49 says...

>> ^messenger:

@robbersdog49
That's what I was hoping for. If I play with a cat, a stick is fun sometimes, but I really want to wrestle with them, ideally as rough as we both can without hurting each other at all. How do you "show" your cats them where the line is?

A good firm 'No!' and a little bop on the head (a tap on the top of the head with a finger) and then stop the play. Pretty much what their mother does too . Stopping playing is probably the biggest factor for the kitten. Saying 'No' in a firm voice re-enforces their understanding of the word.

The proviso here is that you need to be consistent, and this ideally needs to be from an early age. The cats need to know that you are the boss. My wife is not a very good disciplinarian with the cats, she's too soft with them and they know it. The ironic thing is that she spends more time shouting at them than I do, because they already know to do what I say. Not because I beat them (the finger tap on the head is as physical as it gets) but because I'm consistent and try not to send mixed messages. Cats are surprisingly trainable. The reason people think they aren't is because people think they aren't. No-one tries, so the cats don't do as they say and they assume it's the cat's fault. My cats all know what 'No' means and it is effective preemptively too. They also know what 'out' means and 'down' and so on. Ask most cat owners how they get their cat out of a room it shouldn't be in and they'll roll their eyes and tell you about running around, trying to prize the cat out from under the sofa or off the top of the curtains. I just open the door and say a loud firm 'out', and out they go

The final proviso is that all cats are different. None of my cats would scratch or bite a person unless extremely provoked (and I mean extreme). But they don't all like to play fight. Kittens will always be game for it, but some grow out of it. You'll really get to know the cats as they grow up and you can figure out what they like and don't like.

You can correct behaviour in older cats, but it's a lot harder than starting with a kitten and getting it right from the start.

"Facebook Parenting" Dad Responds To Dr. Phil

enoch says...

dr phil is an entertainer with his stock metaphors and his patented country schtick.while quaint and cute it really has no substance.

did the father over-react?..possibly.
was it poor judgment to post to youtube? ..i think there is a case for that.
do i have any right to judge this mans parenting?..nope.not one bit.

real easy to sit on the sidelines with pretty much zero knowledge or understanding of this mans complex relationship with his daughter and pass judgment.

i know that i didnt take too kindly to people thinking they had a right to express their disagreement pertaining to my parenting skills.
i made mistakes.
sometimes the punishment was too harsh..and othertimes too soft.
many time i reacted out of frustration rather than an even handed desire to teach a lesson.
i grew as a parent right along with my boys,as i suspect most parents do.

i recall a time in the grocery store when my oldest was being a total little asshole.(dont even start..we all can be at times.this was his time).
i threatened to pull his pants down and whoop his ass if he didnt knock it off and this woman close to us decided she had the right to voice her opinion "you wouldnt dare" she exclaimed.
the look of triumph on my oldest sons face was priceless.
this woman had given my son the impetus to look up at me with a smug self-satisfied look and i knew KNEW i was going to lose control of the situation if i didnt react fast.
so i just looked at this woman, this total stranger and replied "if you dont mind your own fucking business lady, after i am done with him, you're next".
with the look of shock and bewilderment she tight-lipped scurried away and that smug look on my son slowly deflated and he settles his little ass down.

now all this may seem shocking or even repulsive to those with a more tender sensibility but what this woman did not know, could NOT have known, was that my oldest son was easily embarrassed by nudity, especially his own.so i knew that i would not have to pull his pants down and "whoop his ass in front of everybody" because the mere thought of his naked ass hanging out in public was all i needed.

which brings me to the point that this is between this father and his daughter and while he may have misjudged by posting to youtube it is evident he cares about his role as a father and HE knows the particulars of their relationship and is best suited to deal with them.

dr phil can just go fuck himself.

WTF? Mind-blowing Condiment Picker Upper

Ryjkyj says...

>> ^dag:

I think I'm seeing a little conveyor belt on the "blade" of the tool - especially in the last shot. I think the material on that belt is the key. Looks like teflon or something similar.

Yeah, I think the point is that the material on top of the blade never really moves. It just sort of spins around the edge as it's fed from the bottom. So it really is sort of "picking up" the condiment and getting underneath it. It's a tough action to describe but it's not unlike a conveyor belt. Pretty ingenious although like Zifnab said, who knows how the hell the need came up.

EDIT: The site I just read said that it was designed for bakers ini order to handle bread, etc. that's too soft or can get messed up by sticking to a person's hand. It really makes perfect sense.

>> ^BoneyD:

Surprising to see him back this, honestly, given his track record on issues the Republicans like to strong-arm. But, it all makes a lick of difference to the country really: He won't appoint Elizabeth Warren to head Consumer Financial Protection, he hasn't changed the Medical Insurance Industry, the Banks are still 'too big to fail' and he's not going to shrink the Defence Budget.
Oh and I shouldn't also forget: the climate will continue to warm with his lack of action, Oil companies will continue to drill where they shouldn't and Corporations won't be stopped spending as much as they like buying Senators.
But hey, maybe at least with this news, Church and State might actually stay apart! (Right?)
America won't withstand much more of its corporate sponsored political system and weak/corrupt Presidents... and it's gonna take a lot of the world down with it.
