Thunderf00t -Westboro Baptist Church (full interview)

spoco2 says...

Oh, and I have to say that thinking you've won anything by the grinding argument is infantile.

There's a gazillion passages in the bible that use terms of the time and you KNOW that it's just meaning that two women working, grinding, baking, installing components in the iPhone 5... it hardly matters, it's examples, it's not saying there WILL be two women grinding when the rapture happens... although, having said that, I bet there are a couple of tribal women in Africa or some other country who actually still do grind seed.

Stupid argument thunderfoot, don't think you've won anything by it.

In fact, all of your arguments in this interview are asinine and requiring too much lead in, too much setup. They were poorly chosen for the situation you had at hand.

Not impressed really.

^ Exactly. Thunderfoot is also trying too hard to prove that he's smarter then they are. Better to let them hoist themselves on their own petards, the fact that what they have to say is invalid and unsupprtable is a given anyhow.

This guy talks like such a dipshit , I have found that it takes a clever person to talk about complex things and make them seem simple , however a moron can make something simplistic seem complex.

thunderfoot seems to have this artificial pseudo intellectual way of speaking that's just plain iratating this is father demonstrated when you whatch him interview people like dawkins.

I wouldnt have a problem with him if he just talked in a down to earth way and presented the facts , I think you can put thunder foot , pat condel , and keth oberman ( dont know his name) in the same group of people that are technically right most the time . genraly have interesting things to say and I can agree with most of what they say and communicate but there method of presentation is so forced and contrived it stops me at least from wanting to listen to what they have to say. (and unfortunatly for them they dont have the excuse of mental retardation )

ZOMGitsCriss - Muhammed Tells It Like It Is

spoco2 says...

But she does make good points. She says the salient point, that people are not attacking Islam or their beliefs as such via this draw Mohammad day, but rather they are drawing Mohammad because some tried to stop people doing that by threatening to, and actually, killing people.

This is wrong on so many levels, and showing that the only result of using violence to stop people having freedom of expression is more people doing what you threatened against is a way of getting rid of the effectiveness of the threats. If people all over the world draw Mohammad, then these Muslims who preach violence against those will either have to go on monstrous killing rampages, or just give up knowing that they live in a more enlightened age.

And hey... so this video makes my drawing in the Thunderfoot video of Mohammad with boobs true... sweet.

A Moderate Muslim's Death Threat Towards Thunderf00t

My comment on Thunderfoot's response video, the Moderate Muslim is in violation of law. Death Threats are not legal free speech.
Many US States have Laws against the threat of death, bodily harm, destruction, and et cetera. Threats of death have not been considered free speech, because they are "Fighting Words"; which invite violence. See wikipedia on "Fighting Words."
For Supreme Court case law please see Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire.

I would never have guessed that "them's fightn' words" was the correct legal term.

It's an inept attempt to reference the video Thunderfoot made before this one on the recent southpark Muhammad episodes.

In it he argues that if Muslims keep pushing and fighting our western way of life they may eventually awaken a sleeping giant that will make the Iraq war seem like the flailing arms of a new born child.
Whether that quote is entirely accurate or exactly how much would it take for the entire western world to decide "that's it, their going down" i am not one to answer, but what i guess he is saying is "if your in the habit of pissing on fences eventually your gonna end up in front of an electrified one".
And it is non-Muslim innocent person, which is essentially still a Muslim according to the qouran, us westerners need not apply.

>> ^DrewNumberTwo:

I don't even understand the terms of his threat. Awaken a sleeping giant that is hostile to any Muslim or non-Muslim person? WTF does that mean?

Thunderf00t and Ray Comfort Discussion

James Randi suspended from Youtube

drattus says...

That's what I was just coming to post, the account has been reinstated. And this is a good lesson for those who cry that complaints don't do any good. The hell they don't. This is the second or third one I've seen reinstated within days when the suspension was supposed to be weeks and there were probably others before I started paying attention.

It's a business, with profit motives and posted rules. When they don't play by their own posted rules we're *supposed* to raise hell and expect them to justify things according to their own rules. Customer feedback does work.

Edit for more info. In the Thunderfoot case the above applied, in this case not so much it seems. YouTube was within their rights but better communication on what's going on seems needed to separate cases like this from ones like the Thunderfoot issue. Video from Randi just released on the subject.

James Randi suspended from Youtube

drattus says...

>> ^BicycleRepairMan:
I think its much more likely this is simply a bunch of religious wackos flagging videos and bitching to YT, and of course YT doesnt have time to go through all the videos and shit like that, so they just close the account, its probably even an automated process. ie: "if account X has Y number of flags, close account."

I think that's exactly what it is and I've had a mirror of the video up as well, one of the first. They suspended Thunderfoot a while back and they've hit others as well for what seems to be the same reason. Just get enough wack jobs to decide they want someone shut up and YouTube goes and does that for them.

I've got no problem with calling that censorship. Yeah it's private property and we have no "right" to free speech, but if they want to keep their reputation and our business they might want to consider it a bit anyway. At least justify the suspensions according to their own posted rules, knock off this unexplained crap. Even the people being suspended sometimes aren't sure why.
