Trevor Responds to Criticism from the French Ambassador
This is needless escalation.
First, yeah, a joke on a tv show doesn't warrant a letter from an Ambassador, and is needlessly escalating things.
Next though, Noah's response is unwarranted too, and is needlessly escalating again. Worse still, Noah goes for the throat against the ambassador implying that the ambassador is party to the problem of calling troublesome immigrants African and successful ones simply French.
So, I googled Gerard Araud for a minute to see what I could about where he stood on immigration. That came to the link below after a round of Islamic terrorist attacks within France.
https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2015/01/14/377262623/french-ambassador-to-u-s-outlines-predicament-of-immigration
"France is a country of 65 million inhabitants. There are between 5 and 6 million Muslims. And I guess 99.9 percent of Muslims are peaceful citizens. All the polls are showing their commitment to France. They are French; most of them are born in our country. So the message that we have to send to them is, they are part of the nation. They are a full part of the nation."
So he seems like an ally who already unequivocally put himself out there fully supporting (largely Arab and African)Muslims in the heat of a terrorist attack 3 years ago. So, not so much a fair whether friend only embracing French citizens of diverse backgrounds when they are champions, but in the much much harder time when the press coverage was terrifically negative.
So, the face value reason for the Ambassador's letter of not legitimising the neo-nazi right notion that true French citizens are "white/christian" looks absolutely his true intent.
The escalation here is not to be celebrated, it is needless division between people with the same good cause. The racists don't need the help of the rest of us fighting with one another.
The Harms of Marijuana
I think it can be linked more to tobacco being a carcinogen. While smoking 'anything' may cause other issues with your respiratory system (bronchitis, emphysema, COPD, etc), smoking a carcinogen means you are exposing cells to a substance that can alter their genome.
An easier comparison would be chewing gum and nicotine gum. Since nicotine is a carcinogen, you run the risk of developing cancers of the mouth, throat, and gums by chewing the gum. Regular chewing gum does not contain a carcinogen, so it wouldn't affect you in that way.
As far as the smoke itself, I know that cigarette smoke has additional carcinogens other than nicotine. I do not know if these transfer to weed simply because it is smoked as well. One would assume you could bypass this, just in case, by vaping or using edibles.
I wondered if your use of the past tense should be taken to mean that they are no longer in business, so I googled. It appears that they are still going.
Interesting stuff in the Wikipedia article. It notes that the Surgeon General warnings about tobacco still apply, and in fact they have to include a disclaimer that says "no additives in our tobacco does NOT mean a safer cigarette".
So now I guess I'm back to being surprised and a bit suspicious about the lack of evidence for smoked marijuana causing cancer, as opposed to tobacco being very clearly linked to cancer...
Trump Won't Win
It was clear he was going to win once the democrat mafia forced Hillary down our throats again. There were a metric fuckton of people who were forced to either sit out the election or sadly vote for the worst possible person just because the dems wouldn't fairly let a candidate be selected.
I DID NOT want Trump to be President. At the same time, I COULD NOT vote for Hillary Clinton. Had Bernie ran, I would have jumped ship and voted for him like I did for Obama. I am willing to bet there were a lot like me. The sad thing is, as much as I dislike Hillary, if she is forced on us again I will have to vote for her. I don't want to, but at that point it will be the lesser of two evils again.
Mom Was Pissed: Father Trying To Set Record for Child Toss
Pff, when I was a kid in the 70's, my parents let me play with tinkertoys. Back then they were basically an accident waiting to happen. I was jumping off an old washing machine, pretending I was Thor with my ghetto tinkertoy mjolnir, and somehow ended up jamming the stick end deep into the inside of my mouth/throat.
I ran in crying to my dad, who promptly yanked it out, told me to keep spitting the blood out till it stopped, and offered me a can of chef boyaredee ravioli if I would stop crying.
Parents today just mollycoddle these kids, I tell ya.
Sesame Street: Cripple Creek
Putting it up to her mouth acts as a resonator adding volume but it also adds the overtones that the mouth cavity can create a la Tuvan Throat singing or Tibetan Monk singing to add notes from the overtone scale.
How politicians troll the media
Not if he kicks hard enough.
Sounds good to just ignore her, but that means he can't ever play and she retains permanent control of the game....an unacceptable outcome.
Kick her hard in the throat, then we get no crying and the game can go forward. I'll even give her a nickel for therapy if she makes it off the field.
No, Charlie needs to learn from his mistakes and ignore Lucy.
Kicking her will just allow her to cry "victim".
And that is EXACTLY what happens with the politicians.
New Rule: Distinction Deniers
Maybe you should actually read the article before commenting on this?
Warning: it's a terribly written article that spends a lot of time on completely irrelevant details, also very NSFW, but to summarise (quoting from article):
When Ansari told her he was going to grab a condom within minutes of their first kiss, Grace voiced her hesitation explicitly. “I said something like, ‘Whoa, let’s relax for a sec, let’s chill.’”
...
She says Ansari began making a move on her that he repeated during their encounter. “The move he kept doing was taking his two fingers in a V-shape and putting them in my mouth, in my throat to wet his fingers, because the moment he’d stick his fingers in my throat he’d go straight for my vagina and try to finger me.” Grace called the move “the claw.”
Ansari also physically pulled her hand towards his penis multiple times throughout the night, from the time he first kissed her on the countertop onward. “He probably moved my hand to his dick five to seven times,” she said. “He really kept doing it after I moved it away.”
But the main thing was that he wouldn’t let her move away from him. She compared the path they cut across his apartment to a football play. “It was 30 minutes of me getting up and moving and him following and sticking his fingers down my throat again. It was really repetitive. It felt like a fucking game.”
Ansari wanted to have sex. She said she remembers him asking again and again, “Where do you want me to fuck you?” while she was still seated on the countertop. She says she found the question tough to answer because she says she didn’t want to fuck him at all.
End quoting.
I find it difficult to believe Ansari is "inexperienced". He's 34, famous, good-looking and funny. Hell, he wrote a damn book on the subject.
Now, even though I've lost count of the number of times I've said this, to be perfectly clear: I DO NOT THINK ANSARI IS GUILTY OF A CRIME.
But I also don't think that behaviour is acceptable. He acted like a total asshole.
But since we're talking about degrees of harm, you can still be an asshole and do actual harm without committing a crime.
Should his accuser have just left? Probably. Does that excuse his behaviour? Nope.
From what I've heard he's accused of, I've had far worse from girlfriends who didn't know what men liked. He was handsy in bed and bad at sex. Have you heard otherwise?
What's more unacceptable is the movement to deny gradients of evil so he IS guilty of sex crimes by their estimation for being inexperienced with sex.
I have yet to hear a single thing he did with bad intent or in any way criminal or even ungentlemanly, just inexperienced or plain bad in bed.
Maybe there's stuff I don't know about this case? It sure sounds like a failure to communicate, which I place on her shoulders.
Who is Grace again? His accuser?
Pushy CNN Reporter Can't Take A Hint
I think it was right on the rails. I live in Houston, was fortunate to have come through Harvey with little damage, and spent hours helping folks get out of the small boats that were rescuing people from their water filled homes. The reporting from the various news agencies was on TV pretty much 24/7. But they don't get it... sure, people outside of the situation want to know what's going on, but some of the most inane, redundant, pointless and heartless questions in the world come out of the mouths of these reporters who feel they need to just keep on talking. On more than one occasion, we had to tell reporters to get the fuck out of the way so we could do our work instead of pausing to allow them to conduct an interview. In a situation like this, where people have lost EVERYTHING they own except for the clothes they have on, and have spent hours scared, cold and not knowing if anyone is coming to rescue them, how the fuck can anyone with an IQ bigger than their shoe size think it's a story that wants to be retold in front of a camera? We helped little kids out of boats, with their parents coming along a few boats behind, and reporters walking up to these shivering, scared kids to ask them about any pets they might have left behind or been unable to rescue - to get them to cry. That's inhuman. If it were me, I would've shoved that microphone down that stupid woman's throat. This isn't reporting, it sensationalizing. But I guess we wouldn't expect less from CNN. These people aren't reporters our journalists, they are pond scum.
CNN begs for forgiveness, Project Veritas plays its Zapruder
@Fairbs
look at what i wrote.
i totally agree with you,and the mounting evidence that:
russian intelligence may have attempted to influence our elections, but name a first world country whose intelligence agencies do NOT try to influence elections,or unduly influence legislators to implement legislation favorable to their interests?
the argument isn't that russian intelligence did what every ..single..intelligence agency does on a global scale, with US intelligence agencies being the biggest offenders.
the narrative being shoved down our throats is that the trump campaign COLLUDED with russian intelligence to install trump as president,of which there is NO evidence..zero..zip..nada.
is there evidence that trump may (and let us be frank, most likely)have engaged in some suspicious and possibly illegal financial and business dealings with russia?
considering that no american financial institution will touch trump with a ten foot pole, and his global credit is in the shitter.also considering his blatant abuse of his son in law to garner financial loans from china with the promise of "presidential favoritism" (which is soooo fucking illegal).
i think it safe to say that trumps business and financial dealings with russia are,how shall i put this?
colorful and inventive?(and possibly illegal).
but does this translate to collusion to install trump as president?
nope..just a crooked car saleman abusing his status to broker deals with crooked russians.
you mentioned the 13 intelligence agencies.
do you mean the SAME agencies that were POSITIVE that saddam had WMD's?
the same agencies who were CERTAIN that assad had used sarin gas on civilians?
the very same agencies who were 100% proof positive that gadhafi had killed his own people?
THOSE agencies?
the very same agencies who are making the argument that russian intelligence colluded with the trump campaign and have not provided ONE lick of evidence besides:"trust us,we know".
sorry mate, you know i love ya,but i am gonna need some proof, because THOSE fuckers have lied to me more often than not.the term DEEP state is referring to the very agencies that have lied to us time and time again.
and i ain't buying it.
and for CNN to get pantsed in public by the likes of a slimeball such as james o'keefe and breibart..FUCKING BREITBART..they need to just walk out into traffic and end themselves.
not that i gave CNN much cred to begin with, but now they are just dead to me.a pimple on a syphillis infected rhinocerous's ballsack.
so much fail...but corporate bobbleheads do not experience shame,or guilt.
cuz they get paid to lie, obfuscate and gaslight you,and me.
despicable human beings...the lot of them.
Police Are Different In Norway
You don't think this same kind of thing doesn't happen with American cops every day? Seriously, wake the fuck up. Problem is, the liberal cop-haters who control most of the internet aren't going to post a video of American cops doing good things because it doesn't follow the narrative they're trying to shove down your throat.
RLM discusses Alien: Covenant and plot holes (spoilers)
My biggest complaints about Covenant:
1. David killed ALL the engineers? How? Why would that be the only city on that planet? Makes no sense though I guess it can be implied that all life was *eventually* killed by the black spores.
2. The chestbuster morphing into a mini-xenomorph so quickly was retarded and looked so out of place. Also the gestation period was ridiculously fast.
3. No hazard/bio-suits when landing on an unknown planet with almost your entire bridge/command crew? Come on...
4. The stupid back/throat-bursters. I almost laughed when the first back-burster was revealed. Why even introduce them at all? More time could have been spent with David getting someone impregnated by a facehugger.
5. The whole premise of Alien is that no one really knows what the hell it is or where it came from. That mystery and uncertainty lends more weight to the terror of the xenomorph. Why do movies always have to try and explain every detail - leaving it up to the viewer's imagination can be so much more effective (e.g. see explanation of "The Force"...f.u. George Lucas lol...)
6. David creating the xenomorphs just doesn't make sense either. Why would he create something that requires a host when there is no life remaining on the planet and he couldn't have known that a ship would arrive carrying people to impregnate?
7. Having the xenos walk around in bright lighting doesn't make them appear very menacing. Alien and Aliens were all about claustrophobic environments, dim lighting, and surprise attacks.
8. Yes, let's do exactly what the clearly scheming android told us to do and walk right up to that slimy egg that just opened. You would think that these people should be smart, right? They are the custodians of over 1000 colonists, starship pilots, and scientists and clearly hold high ranking positions yet frequently make some of the WORST choices possible. Ripley might have just been a lieutenant of a simple cargo hauler but the idiots of the Covenant make her look like a genius.
secular talk-maher want liberal purists to fuck off
They simply need to quit pointing fingers and allow people to pick the candidate they want. If the Democratic machine hadn't busted their ass to force Clinton down everyone's throats, Sanders would have won the primary and I am fairly certain the Presidency.
But even that is water under the bridge at this point, and I think this guy has it right, the Democrats need to find a candidate that is anti-corporate. People bought into Trump's anti-corporate lies and elected him.
Dog Feels Petting Instead of Abuse For The First Time
I'm not sure I could ever stop eating meat (primarily chicken), but I understand that there is serious mistreatment and mismanagement of farm animals. I think a greater adoption in North America of CAK (controlled atmosphere killing) via something like high concentrations of nitrogen gas would be a great improvement, especially if it could be extended to pigs and cows. The old stun bolt or electric immobilization (for poultry) and throat-cut method seems so barbaric and I find it hard to believe that it doesn't result in pain.
Irish People Try Surstromming

Apple Campus 2 January/February 2017 Construction Update 4K
Well, Steve was an odd duck. He was a huge asshole, but when it came to people coming up with new and innovative ideas, he would support you into either success or failure (god help you if it was failure though). Once he died, there was a noticeable shift in direction towards conformity and the bottom line.
As an example, one of the managers I worked with had a team that was breaking customer satisfaction records because he had them actually caring about the customer. Unfortunately, it also meant they weren't pulling in the same amount of profit because they weren't trying to ram Applecare contracts down customer's throats, they were also supporting some customers that were just outside their free support, and finally they were using the internal program put in place under Steve that allowed escalation reps to go beyond the norm. Like helping a smaller school set up a mac mini server network without forcing them to go to server support and paying 300 bucks for a one time call. Yeah, bottom line wise, Apple lost a 300 dollar support call fee. But they later sold quite a few macbooks to the students who were used to hearing how good Apple was.
Anyway, after some of the other groups started complaining, that manager was quietly removed and put over a non support team. This pattern continued to grow worse right up until the time I left, whatever brought in the most money was king and thinking outside the box was verboten. It certainly influenced my decision to retire early, as it did others who went on to other jobs.
I really wished Apple would focus $$ on their own products. Look at their recent products. Argh.
