2 black dudes-1 iconic metal song

MilkmanDan says...

Nice sift @enoch!

I discovered these guys a while ago on YT also. I don't usually care about watching reaction / review videos, but these guys are great. They are so enthusiastic and honest that it is almost like hearing the songs again for the first time myself.

Their reactions to Holy Wars (Megadeth), Master of Puppets, and One (both Metallica) are awesome for the thrash lover in me. And for other stuff, their vids for Killing in the Name (RATM), Digital Bath (Deftones), and Lateralus (Tool) are also all great.

2 black dudes-1 iconic metal song

I don't think you can copyright the title of a work, just the work itself.

It's funny to see what these guys think is difficult. Tempo and time signature changes are really common in metal (especially thrash) and almost any metal player has to get used to them right from the start. The rhythm playing for this song would be about intermediate difficulty, but the solos are ridiculous because, well... Marty Friedman.

I often wondered if these guys (Fearless Iranians From Hell) had a copyright claim to "holy war" as a song name.....theirs was first.

Metal Bellydancer Diana Bastet - Sepultura "Ratamahatta"

Stormsinger says...

That was based on a comment on youtube...I wouldn't know thrash from deathmetal myself. My tastes in metal are pretty well limited to the classic rock varieties: Led Zeppelin, Dio, etc..

But it would seem the song is more familiar than I realized, I -have- seen that video before. Still prefer the dancer personally, she's much easier on the eyes.

Eh?? “Ratamahatta” isn’t thrash, not even close.

And the vocals are awesome.

And the original video is way better than this

corporate media tool gets taken to school about syria

enoch says...

@newtboy
that's what you took away from this?
jimmy dore is akin to glenn beck and alex jones?

ok,not gonna judge.

i thought the real take away,in my opinion, was a journalist was taken to task for being lazy and uncritically accepting the current corporate media narrative, and gets a thrashing from an independent journalist from canada.a polite and soft spoken thrashing, but a thrashing just the same.

eve bartlett has been doing some amazing work in regards to syria, and exposing the lies and manipulations of corporate media.

jimmy dore is a comedian,i am just a loser nobody who comments on the internet, but we all come to our own conclusions.

and i no longer give corporate media any authority, because of their utter and complete failure to inform.

i question any and everything that they attempt to spin as "truth".

Denmark has a lesson for us all

vil says...

Its an ad, scripted, written jokes, those are actors, nothing is "legit".

Not thrashing anything - I really think football fans are a good metaphor for a religious sect and I agree with the basic premise of this skit.

"He loves to wrestle the dog(100lb Golden retriever) so when I heard thrashing around in the living room, it didn't raise red flags. He told me it was an accident, it wasn't until I saw this video on his ipad that I knew what really happened. An "oh shit mom's gonna kill me" face if I ever saw one." -yt

Why Do Aussie Trucks Have Bullbars?

bremnet says...

The camper van we rented in Brisbane to drive to Darwin had a bull bar and a downward deflecting heavy screen just along the bottom of the windshield. We wondered why until we got to the other side of Longreach and saw the aftermath of a big red kangaroo going through the windshield of a panel van, still alive and kicking - kicking enough in its panic to kill the driver as it thrashed about trying to get away from it's predicament. The down angled heavy screen is to 'deflect' the road vermin down away from the cab and windshield. Not as much fun as hitting a moose, but fun nontheless.

Hippo Closes On Speedboat with Amazing Speed

AeroMechanical says...

That would definitely scare the hell out of me. I've been trying to find it for years, but there is a really good video out there of a seriously big mother saltwater crocodile in a full out sprint doing over 50mph. It was pretty much just violently thrashing it's tail and hydroplaning.

I guess you gotta be tough if you're going to live where there isn't much water on the whole and all the animals have to spend most of their time congregating around what's there. The ghettos of the animal kingdom.

Coochie Coo, Baby Shark! Coochie coo....

What first tipped me off was the fact it wasn't thrashing around in agony, suffocating.

I don't understand why said huge fish isn't thrashing around like crazy. Once it's pinched, it just gives up. Love to know the reason for this.
