Keith Olbermann on Comedian Rush Limbaugh at CPAC

jake says...

When did Rush Limbaugh go from a radio talk show host to .... anything actually politically interesting?

The absolute lack of objectivity in your media has totally fucked your country in the ass. Shit is almost as entertaining as Jerry Springer.

You're all douchebags for putting up with it. Lucky for the rest of the world we can just kick back and laugh our asses off.

Any possibly interesting points that the Republicans have are completely lost in the ether thanks to a few pundits (and, interestingly, Rahm Emmanuel) creating the utterly bullshit controversy by saying that Limbaugh is the 'de-facto leader of the Republican party'.

Instant bullshit cannon fodder for you guys to fight about while you're country is being looted by corrupt bank executives.

Really, what the fuck does he have to do with anything?

The Best of Norm MacDonald Interviews

dag says...

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

It certainly is a revival - on the Sift at least. To be honest, he was pretty poor on SNL - he's at his best when he comfortably riffing with talk show hosts that like him and appreciate his style.

Should Our Resident "Hater" Be Banned? (Wtf Talk Post)

Krupo says...

>> ^Farhad2000:
It's unrealistic to believe that simply banning or temp-banning someone would make that person change his ways in regards to how they interact with the community.
We had this issue back in the day with QM and now we have it with CPN420, BillO is not far behind am sure.

With the one exceptiont that BillO tends to play it up as a real "character", so you don't take it seriously (unless you're new here and don't realize he's not a doctor, he's just playing a a talk show host), whereas the others are generally trying to mess with people (i.e., doctoring vid descriptions, which hurts the sift), etc.

Dita von Teese on the Sharon Osbourne Show

spoco2 says...

This was a very shallow, contentless 'interview'. It was basically Sharon (who seems to be a terrible talk show host), showing off that she knows Dita and got her to perform for Ozzy.

Meh.

No substantial questions at all, nothing asking about whether Dita has seen a shift in public acceptance of Burlesque, the difference between burlesque and stripping, whether she's encountered negative reactions to her profession... etc. etc. etc.

Plus, it's kinda old, being that here she had just got married to MM.

Also, man, Dita has a fair overbite (which is a valid observation seeing as she makes her living on her body and appearance).

Fox Doesn't Know What to Do After the Election

bcglorf says...

Hilarious for FOX outrage at a talk show host being too biased. The only way to make the hypocrisy thicker is to have good 'ol Bill O complain about Oprah trying to "sway" the election.

David Letterman-John McCain-Oct-16-2008

Xax says...

Looks like McCain is still drinking his own Kool-Aid. What a fool.

Letterman did a great job. It's sad that late night comedy talk show hosts are asking the toughest questions these days.

Michael Savage says Children with Autism are Faking It

jonny says...

>> ^T-man:
Jonny, he's the third most popular radio talk show host in the country with 8+ million listeners a week. He's also had several best selling books. The guy, unfortunately, is relevant.

fair enough - I thought he was just some random crank. wow - 8 million? wow.

T-man says...

Jonny, he's the third most popular radio talk show host in the country with 8+ million listeners a week. He's also had several best selling books. The guy, unfortunately, is relevant.

Also, there have been other audio-only sifts. I guess if people vote for them, they're siftable.

The Daily Show: Obama talked to Americans like adults

Payback says...

Don't underestimate the power of a good speaker. Reagan was smart enough to pick, then listen to, excellent advisors. His real power lay in his oratory. There is so much that happens in any major government, let alone the US, that one man cannot be in control. He can only hold sway, and to do that, you need to be able to speak effectively. 50% of Dubbya's problems lie in the fact that no-one but pundits and late night talk show hosts listen to him speak. The other half is he either has morons for advisors or he just doesn't listen to them.

SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN: Second Thoughts About Fluoride (Science Talk Post)

qruel says...

yes, let's stay focused on the issue at hand, which again is not what your addressing. Kicking a science video out of the science sift, even though it adhere's to that channels description. rembar denigrating an accomplished scientist work without providing evidence to back up his claims. You guys would be really great right wing talk show hosts.

I doubt rembar would agree with your "agreement", as it goes against all of his previous comments. but if he does, then sure, I could abide by that.

If I accept your "agreement" of using published results from scientific papers then shouldn't that topic be in a "science" sift ?

Sean Hannity Flees Ron Paul Supporters

mas8705 says...

Its funny and sad at the same time... All that this is doing is giving Sean material of how crazy this election is, and it was funny to listen to the other day...

Fact is, Ron Paul isn't going to get the vote, and once that happens, I won't be suprised is there are riots in the streets from Physco Ron Paul supporters and The talk show hosts are going to get blamed for it...

John Stewart confronts Alan Greenspan on Central Banking

messenger says...

I saw it a bit differently. Stewart was making a bunch of naive comments to bait Greenspan before dropping the real question, the one about choosing to favor investment over working, the one that visibly knocked Greenspan back in his chair for a second. He came back very well, and Stewart went back to his harmless ignorant talk show host act.
