I'm well for being sick since night...happier than I have the right to be though.
Synchronicity was coined by CG Jung in 1923 while penning the Foreward of a book. It basically means meaningful coincidence. Acausal based reality stuff....
I miss the Sift as well. I pop through to vote for as much as I can and find the odd deviation(s). Your mention of the Police may have sparked free association in that I, while reading your reply, considered myself more of a traffic cop here these days.
I do relish the comparison to your venerable self. I must admit, however, variance with your comparison as being simultaneously too flattering of me and certainly too self deprecating of you.
I am glad to hear life is treating you well and, therefore, you life. And that your flare for imagery is still strong.

Hey there! I've heard the term synchronicity before (even outside of The Police's Greatest Hits) but I figured I should check the Wikipedia entry just to do something seemingly enlightened today. I then managed only to read as far as a distracting graph that read 'indestructible energy' at the top, so yes, I am synchronously indestructible and I thank you for the compliment.
I'm good! Busy as heck and missing the sift, but loving life. Old man moment: You remind me of myself, commenting about 'walking out of here' as though the Sift is a physical place, with you its custodian and Keeper of Awesome, clocking out nightly when the weariness overtakes the desire for dupes and bans. I then looked at your Super Duper rank - 82 - and for me to say 'you remind me of myself' is probably akin to a worm complimenting the eagle who is busy squeezing it between its talons.
Anyway, how are you?

Are you familiar with the term synchronicity?
Last night I came across something of yours and it occurred to me it had been a while and to rectify that. A little while later having shut down for the night I was walking out of here thinking about your comment which I still consider the funniest I have ever encountered here.
Six hours later I find.... How are you sir?
BTW, I searched and found that quote in the fire tornado video comment stream and read it to all here to much laughter.
And, thank you sir.

Mighty fine work keeping the Sift clean, Sheriff.

Patrick Stewart introducing The European Spallation Source
>> ^jonny:
Ok, I understand how they are able to provide inverse reactive current to the unilateral phase detractor, but unless they have a Turbo-Encabulator, how do they synchronize the cardinal grammeter? Even with a Turbo-Ecabulator driven with magneto-relecutance and capacitive diractance, it doesn't completely solve the problem of sinusoidal deplenaration.
Just send a polaron pulse set to the frequency of cosmic background radiation through the main deflector! Duh.

I think they are planning to use a Johnson rod.

Wiki.videoSift.com Beta (Sift Talk Post)
I'm still being logged out of the main VideoSift site when I visit the wiki. >> ^lucky760:
Sorry for the login troubles across VS and the wiki. Took me several hours to figure out what the issue was. I was certain it was something I did (it usually is), but this time it was a server module surprise.
Login synchronization is all fixed now!

Crazy LED Cube Light Show
>> ^Sagemind:
There is no doubt this is exceptionally cool but it would be even better if it was synchronized to the music. It seems to be independently programed. If it took it's cues from the music in combination to the pre-programming, the technology would be salable even more so than it already is.
Captain Obvious, are you friends with Captain Hindsight ?

A Christmas Trololo
This, while being epically awesome, confuses me. It looks like not only do the people in the audience know the melody but they also know parts of the choreography. I could perhaps understand the audience members being mostly comprised of siblings/parents of the singers knowing the melody, but them knowing parts of the choreography just blows my mind... Perhaps there's a level of social popularity that this meme enjoyed in other parts of the world (I'm in Vancouver, BC in Western Canada) that it simply didn't enjoy here? A level that would drive everyday people to know the song and choreography that the man does as he walks... Or perhaps this is just one big inside joke?
Actually! Perhaps there's a director on the stage showing the audience what to do? Hmmm... the audience just looks too synchronized to be following ad-hoc direction. Anybody have any information to lighten my Christmaslololo confusion?
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Kiss Them For Me
I spent 10 years having Siouxsie force-fed to me by my ex-wife. I hated...and I actually mean loathed and detested Siouxsie and would protest every time she would play the banshees or the creatures. Now it reminds me of simpler times...looking back I think that at some point during our relationship I came to like her, but I wasn't about to admit that after all the shit I had talked about her music. This is what was going through my mind even before I had read marinara's comment....just a weird instance of synchronicity I suppose...

Forget all that brouhaha. DropBox is the perfect solution and it works on all platforms (even Droid and iPhone).
It just installs a folder on your computer that is synchronized every other place you have your DropBox account setup. For example, you have a folder like "dropbox/our_files/" filled with a bunch of files you need to share. Your compatriots across the globe install DropBox and they have the same "our_files" directory on their computers. Any time you or any of them add a file to the folder, it automagically appears in the same folder on everyone else's computer. Likewise, any time you delete a file, it disappears from everyone else's computer.
It's a pretty great service and starts with 2GB free (you can upgrade to 50GB for $10/mo). Either all of the other users can install DropBox and login with your credentials -or- you can create your shared folder and just share it with select individuals (and it will be sync'd in their own DropBox folders).
