I also had some abdomen pain, but not as much as I do now. It's hard to say if the stomach expanding or the loss of appetite was the first symptoms. I went to my gastro doc first thinking it might be something celiac related, but when it kept getting worse I went to a doctor at austin regional clinic. He said it sounded like a gallbladder issue and sent me to the sonogram. Now I have to go back to the gastro doc on the 28th, which I was lucky to get thanks to how covid is hitting all the docs, and see if we can drain the fluid.

I'm hoping it doesn't start hurting to the point where I have to go to the emergency room and get it drained before then. It's just crazy, my mom died in 2019 from liver/kidney failure but she was in her 60's with many bad habits. I'm only 48 and other than being overweight I don't, I quit smoking many years ago and I almost never drink, but here I am. Now I have to wonder if having covid before I could get vaccinated accelerated the failure.

Anyway, I'll post when I know more. Just really down atm.

The Delta variant is just as infectious from the vaccinated as from the not vaccinated, but +-90% fewer vaccinated seem to catch it and at least 98% fewer require hospitalization. It is far more transmissible, and in the unvaccinated seems to have higher mortality rates than previous variants. Vaccinated and non vaccinated may be totally infectious but have no symptoms.
That means wearing a mask after getting vaccinated is still good science and proper public policy based on current knowledge. Masks protect others from the wearer , they don’t protect wearers from the unmasked sneezing or coughing. They aren’t signs of fear or weakness, they are signs of recognizing a civic responsibility, something the Right wing called a virtue before following Trump into the darkness.

If more people had gotten vaccinated, the delta variant might not have been a problem. Just like if more people had masked up and distanced early, COVID might not have been 1/10 the problem it has been. Dose 2 from what my wife's nurse friend says causes minor to moderate flu like symptoms in some people. In most it seems to be no worse than the effects from getting the flu shot.

That's not what she says at all. It was the thing that alerted her to the fact that she has the virus so it's something she talks about. And I'm sure it's a pretty jarring symptom. But to think that means it's the only thing that's worrying her is not justified. I'm sure she's worried about all sorts of things. She's reacting properly, got tested, she's isolating.

It's not a failure if he can come out on TV every few days saying how much of a nothing burger Covid is, looking none the worse (I almost wrote "healthy"). That could be a triple win....no more horrible debates, show he's right that Covid isn't dangerous, and show his people how strong he still is by never showing symptoms, then he gets to play hooky from presidenting but still put on the Trump show from his bedroom. He was elected, but not democratically. The electoral college is not democratic.
